Yeah, it's not like he bought a tent or anything like that...
Pensioners aren't supposed to have a sense of humour.

Why would your first thought be to tell someone that they could have bought something much better? If you can't say anything nice then just don't say anything. Simples.
Ye because discussion boards are just for saying nice things! Opinions are not allowed [rolleyes]

Really??? Get out of town! I'd never have guessed. If you'd ever left your computer for the real world you'd know it's not good bedside manner to say something is rubbish after someone has just bought it.

Opinions are allowed. But voicing negative ones are what help make certain people wankers. If you just saved up and sent a lot of money on something that means a lot to you, and then people turn round and say that's crap, you should have got something else, you wouldn't really like it.

In this case, saying he's just buying a badge is bollocks, because by being a Harley, we know its pretty well put together, as well as having a good image. If you think you know better, just keep it to yourself, unless he's asking advice on what to buy.

It's nothing to do with being a crybaby and everything to do with knowing how to behave in polite company. Working on your social skills will enable you to have much more fun in life.

Don't you have a sense of humor? Winding people up is fun right?

There is a difference between being deliberately rude and a good natured dig. I wouldn't expect you to understand that though so don't worry about it.

Apparently the difference is whether or not you like the person who is at the end of such comments.

Realistically you know I'm right but you'll never admit it,you're a hypocrite.

It's ok though,no one really cares that much,it is teh intrwebz.

Polite company? pfft..it's just a discussion forum.
Besides, you calling me no-life and having no social skills is way more negative than anything i've posted in this topic.

You said he had no taste, and I said your social skills weren't great. What's the difference?

No I'm not. LazerBase got it in the neck for giving me a hard time and then going and doing exactly what I did.

I'd never say to anyone that their personal choice in something was rubbish compared to my opinion, although I'll happily mock them good naturedly over it.

LOL - that line wasn't funny in 1986 and it hasn't aged well.

I get it, you were going for nonchalant dismissal. Sadly you only managed to muster up facetious childishness.

What if I was going for childishness but my sense of humor is so dry at times even teh british can't get it?

Or maybe I just don't feel like trying as hard as you do?

Who knows,I am a mystery wrapped in an enigma wrapped in some lovely blue-ish smoke.

What if I just think you're a cXXk monkey but am generally too nice to say it in so many words?

What if I really just don't give a sh!t?

Goshums,it is so difficult to know what's real.
