How is it definitively better than the Arc? It's very iPhone like and the interface is a bit weird IMO. If you can convince me otherwise I'll send mine back and get an S2. The community makes the phone goa LONG way. Hardware is important but IMO community is even more important. www.xda-developers.com the forum post #s for HTC phones says it all. |

A ice vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCMDA...e_gdata_player It would be like benchmarking 3dmark2001 on a 7800GTX and a 8800GTX with 60fps a framerate cap, it won't tell you much. The only odd result there is smartbench, even my Galaxy S scores higher in that test, but Galaxy S2 wins easily in everything else, the developers need to update that benchmark as somethings not right there. |

The graphics benchmarks are not nearly demanding enough, the framerate on the Galaxy S2 is capped at 60fps, if you look at the Nenamark test the framerate just won't go any higher so the results will be close. Will we ever see what they are truly capable of? [yes] |

Thanks for the clarification. I really wish there were a way to disable fps limits on phones for benchmarking purposes. ![]() Maybe futuremark should make a new mobile bencchmark. [yes] |

So my current phone contract is just about to run out and I've been offered each of these as a replacement. I'm not a big "phone guy" at all, and as such don't keep up with the latest and greatest. I'm just wondering what the main selling points of each is (from folks like yourself who actually own them)?
I pretty much use my phone for calls and texting exclusively, with very little web browsing. Never really been into apps but then again my current phone is a Nokia with nothing but **** on their store. I was also wondering if it is worth waiting until I return from the states (either August or November depending), if there is anything on the horizon worth waiting for? Cheers. [xmascandle] |

How is it definitively better than the Arc? It's very iPhone like and the interface is a bit weird IMO. If you can convince me otherwise I'll send mine back and get an S2. You can install: gingerbread launcher (Stock gingerbread launcher): https://market.android.com/details?i...droid.launcher ADW Launcher (an open source launcher which is highly customisable): https://market.android.com/details?id=org.adw.launcher ADW EX (Like ADW with more features. Paid to support the developers): https://market.android.com/details?i...freak.launcher Zeam (A very "light" launcher): https://market.android.com/details?id=org.zeam Launcher 7 (for that WP7 look): https://market.android.com/details?i...soft.launcher7 There are plenty of ways you can make your Arc and SGS like a more stock experience and if one UI doesn't suit you, you can try the next! If I were to replace my Nexus S today, it would be with the SGSII. If I had any other phone right now, it would be that one. ![]() |

Behold the Android Holy Grail: http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/28/s...y-s-ii-review/ Think it's worth waiting to get the likes of this over say, the LG chaz? As far as I can see, the LG is also Dual Core with an Nvidia GPU though I'm guessing its slower/shitter somehow? |
