Yeah I was on the MacBook last night and saw that a new security update for MacOSX from Apple was available as well as another one for Safari, I lol'd when I went online to find out what that was about.

That's the price of so many people using Macs compared to ten years ago, they will need more protection. How much longer till we see Apple Antivirus hit the shelves?http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/laugh1.gif

The irony of this thread is that while you're taking the mickey out of Apple for being crap, they are in reality getting popular enough to attract hackers.

Grapappytek 03-05-2011 11:02 PM

Haha, he made a thread as well.

These things trickle out at such a slow pace, it has now become newsworthy. Other malware has been on OS X before so this is not new. It is also easily removed and superficial to boot.

Or maybe hackers are tired of Annoying MAC owners who only buy mac products because its hip? Not because they need the features?

No! Apple got OWNED with massive FAIL. This whole thing is an irreversible catastrophe.

Seriously a virus popping up for macs? Yeah, not the most exciting news.

DghtRdc 03-06-2011 01:46 AM

Malware on macs. Nothing special about that. Macs have had malware in the past, and no doubt there will be more in the future.

I personally find it more interesting that people are surprised when a new piece of malware comes out for macs like it's never happened before.

i think this thread was meant for those uninformed smart-alecks who go around saying that macs are secure and can never be infected :p

It is a crazy notion. Anything can be hacked, people don't really bother as they can make much more of an impact hacking windows machines still.

amelveEnromma 03-06-2011 02:31 AM

yea. crazy as it is, there are a LOT of these ppl around... there's loads in my country and sometimes it pisses me off when some totally clueless idiot suggests to his friends to but a mac for the very sole reason that "they don't have viruses"

People on here who use OS X are knowledgeable enough to know that is not the case. However, there is a very significant amount fewer to worry about on OS X. (Due to the UNIX environment and install base)

This is proven by an article being written and LM finding it threadworthy. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/laugh1.gif

With the hack of PSN, LastPass, vBulletin forum software, etc. I shall blog about other tragedies coming down the line.

(Ignore the fact that these quotes have been building over half a decade.)

All aboard!
