Consider this:
When you initiate service (say on the 15th of december), you get billed at the end of the billing cycle (say end of the month) for 1 month + prorated amount (so 1.5 monthly bills + usage) in this case. The company justifies it by saying that it bills for the service plan ahead of time. That's all well and good. So what happens if on the 16th of december 2 years from that date (after your contract expires), you switch to another company. Well... at the end of the month, you get billed use + plan amount. Is my math off, or are the companies consistently charging you for an extra month of service upon every termination? Because if you pay for service ahead of time, then shouldn't they REFUND half of your monthly bill, and only bill you for use charges for december... since you paid for your December service in November? |
