Default UPS Tracking. Huh?
I'm following the progress of my iPad 2. Yesterday it said it had reached Germany. Today it's saying it's back in Hong Kong!

It never left China... it was waiting for clearance by I assume Chinese Customs to depart for it's next hop, which is in Germany.

Yeah seems it had to pass German clearances/customs checks first.

Stuff you buy oversea's can do this. I bought some Nike ID's that clocked up about a billion miles before I got them on my feet. Doesn't strike me as very efficient.

Seems to make about as much sense as tracking data usually does.

Essentially your package is being sent via a broker in Germany. They scan the package details remotely (Package data processed by brokerage) and then the package is sent on. Currently its moved across China.

I get that but it's not necessarily what happened to my shoes.

My response was more to this, which would be read as that's what happened to Bungle's iPad2 as well:

Stuff you buy oversea's can do this.
Back in '97 I had a workstation sent from Idaho, and managed to rack up >10,000 miles getting to WV.

So it's not as close as I thought it was.

The delivery is scheduled for Thursday, but I'm expecting it to come early like my iPhone did. That could be a problem if it comes on Wednesday since I have an appointment at the bank.
