Default Do yo worry about eating processed foods?
I know that the whole trend in the last few years in the US has been all about eating natural/going organic etc, but does anyone here worry about eating processed foods? I just saw a study that showed that people who consume diet soda have a 2x increased chance of getting a stroke, and there is always talk (valid or not) about aspartame causing different kinds of cancer or having other negative impacts on health (slows metabolism, etc). High Fructose Corn Syrup seems to be another one I hear a lot of people say that we nee to avoid.

It seems like a lot of people attribute the rise in cancer rates in the US to increased consumption of unnatural chemicals through processed foods. The rise in chronic heart burn and osteoporosis is seen by many as a result of a pH imbalance caused by not eating too much meat/grains/sugar and not enough fresh fruits and vegetables.

I don't have a clue about much of this stuff since I'm no doctor, but it has led me to start skipping the oreos (in favor of my own freshly baked cookies), start buying whole-grain bread that has all-natural (no high fructose corn syrup) ingredients, and foregoing cereal in favor of a home-made fruit smoothie for breakfast. Cancer doesn't run in my family, but it still concerns me to look at the back of some food items and read all of the synthetic chemicals found in them.

I haven't cut anything out completely, and I still drink diet coke occasionally, eat foods with HFCS, and eat a lot of meat/probably not enough veggies, but I think that the changes I have made are more or less for the better.

Does anyone else worry about all of this diet related stuff or do you think it is all BS? A marketing ploy to get people to pay more? Or is it a legitimate concern?

I love when they use the word "chemicals" as something bad.

Trust me I know people who work in KFC and where they get their chicken from. If it's not modified it's scrapings of the floor and the low end products that left behind for KFC lovers to eat, then there's the dudes who do all sorts of crap to the servings.

That link is just suppose to make you feel better, defend KFC and keep it's buisness high (which it don't need help with)

Haha one of those links says coca-cola has a pH of 1.0, which is around the same as battery acid. Meat at 2.5? The BODY OF AN ANIMAL at 2.5?

What a load of bollocks.

So they scrape the meat off the floor and mould it around bones do they, in fibrous strands?

It seems to happen quite often, that when the ethics of a company come into question someone on here comes on and states "I know someone who works there and..." (note it's never the person themselves who works there) then they talk a load of bollocks about how the company does this and company does that.

All I can say is if that KFC serve "scrapings from the floor" (formed into fillets?), they're very tasty "scrapings".

As said it tastes nice so what?

It's like hot dogs, they use loads of crap to make them (the ones in the tins) but they taste nice so eat them. Same with many types of processed meat.

And am not talking bollocks, if you want bungle why don't we meet up and I can show you a few things? I am in the East Midlands, that way I can show you some stuff about life and what goes on, am offering real life see it your self potential evidence for you.

But I won't go into a debate about that stuff on a forum with people who look over people and often judge them, resort to saying they talking bollocks and name calling in the end

Because Silent_Killer also thinks HAARP caused the earthquake near Japan.

Hearsay is the best evidence for him.

I think processed food makes out about max (and i´m being generous here) 10% of the food i eat (i think 5% would be more realistic)
So do i worry ? no

When did I say HAARP caused Japan earthquake? never , just posted a link to an interesting to read article, said few times on that thread that I don't think HAARP caused it.

Anyway I offer evidence with first hand experience by coming to meet me in person regarding most things I talk open and learned from life experience (not with haarp of course lol, am not involved with that stuff just find it interesting to read, and be open minded, not brainwashed)

I was temping at a place in Huntingdon that packaged Tesco's beef and chicken, the workers there throwing chunks of it at each other (sticks quite well to a hardhat) or dropping and then picking it up off the floor to place back on the production line.

I've seen it pulled off the bottom of a wellington boot and put back, tread marks and all.

Tastes pretty good regardless.

It's fake to those who believe it's fake, and not to those who believe it's not.

There is lots of links link you posted saying the opposite. It's just a link with some text after all, so it works both ways.

As said come and meet me and ill show you some **** lol, you would be surprised to know how some food places even posh ones deal with food and where they get it from such as KFC etc despite being marketed to be otherwise, and be up to standards.

Your talking bollox, no way anywhere does food like this as some of the people beleive on thsi thread, that everywhere is good and the food you eat all comes from the same place, even though most stuff from supermarkets and in general that you eat is genetically modified unless it's organic...
