this one from Hammacher Schlemmer catalog
I'm sure someone else has seen them before and heard what they are for. Is it indeed proven that it will repel any attempt to read the RFID chips embedded in cards which are then put into this wallet? NY State driver licenses are required to include the RFID chips in them, and I am all too well aware about the data being stolen off them using RFID readers. Was actually interested in getting one... |

I would be somewhat concerned that the steel mesh comes in patches that aren't necessarily electrically connected. Looks like it's mostly built of leather. To work as a Faraday cage, it would have to electrically enclose and completely surround the cards inside.
This and the density of the weave will determine whether it can truly block theft using RFID readers. It might provide some shielding, but I'm not sure it will be a foolproof solution. |

Edit: A carbon fiber made wallet would be awesome though. and the glasses http://ecfg.carbonfibergear.com/clot...ies/sunglasses There have been full length CF coats made, but don't seem able to find them now, pity, as it would complete your look. |
