Default The great American linguistic divide: Soda vs Pop.
This is very old stuff. But hey, I'll play:

I had a college roommate from Alton IL (St Louis/Belleville area, all-white, blue collar) who called it "sody pop." He was a brilliant guy (PhD in biochem), but it made him sound like an idiot.

Coke, by default. Soda, if thought about.

Funny, "other" is predominant here.

I wonder what that other is. Pop just sounds right to me. My granny loves to use "coke".

On the upside the US is currently experiencing a revival of the old soda counter with soda jerks mixing up authentic classic 19th & early 20th century soda mixtures using fresh ingredients right at the counter as customers wait.

This may be the most oerdin post in all of history.

It can only be a matter of time. I mean people who enjoy good food are clearly douche bags.

You wish.

You know you try the same sort of stuff in NYC but you're afraid to admit it.

I just call it 'Soda-pop'. And I always ask for 'cola' instead of Coke or Pepsi.

New York must thank God every night that Philly exists. Philly is the only thing saving New York from being the most crass.

Hoagie is a ****ing cold sandwich on a long roll. What else would you call it? Subs and heroes mean other ****. It's a hoagie. Nothing else. Can't stand New Yorkers with their hero nonsense. Who the **** calls a sandwich a hero? Where did that retarded connection come from?
Never change Al. Being the typical Philly resident being an intolerant boob.
