UK gun licenses, can they be used in the US?
Anyone know anything about this? Sure i could google but there's enough gun owners here to give me the advice I need.

What's the UK gun license?
You have to be a resident of the state your in to buy a gun. But, you might be able to own one. You can rent one at a range without a problem. |
I have no idea tbh, my father has a shotgun license here in the UK, and we're both doing a trip across Alaska, one particularly risky section of road - The Dalton Highway, is better driven with a rifle from what I gather. I am trying to figure out how as a tourist we can even buy a gun with a foreign gun license, I guess it's probably not going to be easy.

Not completely sure about the legality of that. You might have to be a citizen. |

I was told in a gun store that it was legal for me to own a gun but I could not buy one from a shop because I needed social security for them to run a background check.
The guy also told me that if I went to a gun show (or swap meet type thing) I could buy one from another person with cash and no background check. I'm from England and have a house in Florida but only enter the US by visa waiver. Waiting until I get an EB-5 visa before I try again. |

Alaska is not the Wild West or the Gheto. So you dont need a gun unless you want to shoot a bear.
So who ever told you that you need a gun for self protection in Alaska is full of ****. |
