The first was pretty groundbreaking with its bullet time and 360 degree fight scenes and the amazing lobby fight that defined our very own 3DMark2001, but having rewatched the entire trilogy I have to say I enjoyed Reloaded & Revolutions just as much.

I felt that the awesome atmosphere and wonderment that the first one created was cut in half with the second one. The third one didn't really make any impression on me. Good or bad.

These next ones will prolly be a prequel. Adding anymore story to the "end of the line" would be sloppy.

I read a few years ago that there would be sequels to the story.

Having Neo in it would make zero sense however as it would be fore he happen.

As for 3D. I think 3D while the bullet time happens would be awesome sick

Since neo is now super man...actually even better than in both real world and matrix, I think these need to be prequels.

Also, I am not too wild about 3D. I am now at a 9 out of 10 times prefer 2D....but who knows, if they really do it well it might be ok.

Don't forget, the story says that when the one integrates with the source that the system reboots.

The last we see is that system rebooted. Sati picks up the cat, to signify a change, and the Architect asks the Oracle if they will see Neo again, to which she claims yes, after agreeing to disconnect the humans and for there to be peace for as long as it lasts.

They could frankly do anything, because the end of the 3rd one they left it completely open ended.

2 and 3 were CGI fests and lacked the atmosphere of the first, just IMO.
