I didn't know people had electric lawnmowers.

Do you have lawn tractors (riding lawn-mowers) over there?

I think some people might. But the average person's garden in town isn't big enough.

Yeah, thanks. That looks exactly the same as what Maplin were selling, which I've already ordered btw.

I would imagine that a plastic blade would still slice through an extension cord, no?

I could not think of any garden tool worse than an electric lawn mower. Electric whipper snippers (brush cutters) suck ass too. They never caught on in this country and for good reason!

Now it's in two halves. I was going to replace the whole cable, but Maplin's only equivalent cable has three cores where as the existing cable on has two (it appears to be the same size). But then I was thinking I could just attach a plug to one of the broken halves and a trailing socket to the other and then connect them up, which would be easier than replacing the whole cable. Which would be best?
what you want to do would be best... you might see it next time if there is a bloody great socket/extension on the ground

What's wrong with an electric lawn mower? I think they're the most common over here.

How so? I've used a few over the years and they all seemed to cut the grass ok as far as I can tell.

And with a petrol one you have to keep filing it with petrol, where as an electric one you just plug it in.

Is this a grass thing? When I went to Florida I noticed the grass is of a much thicker variety than we have over here. Do you have the same thick grass all over the US?
