Default Anyone know about Prague?
I'm booking a holiday there next week for 6 lads aged mid twenties to early 30's. Anyone got any good tips on accomodation, bars to go to etc? We'll be going in May so really it's where to stay that matters now.

I think this thread is less to do with travel tips and more to do with you trying to show off, similar to your Las Vegas thread.

Prague is pretty and not expensive, but no really showing off material. I'd like to go though. Unfortunately I have no useful info.

I liked Budapest a lot more than Prague.

That's all I have to say.

Cheap beer, pretty girls and reasonable accommodation are to be had all over prague. Unfortunately, though. The czechs hate you brits, especially when you group up with your "lads" and get pissed and make fools of yourselves all over their city. Maybe you could pretend to be from New Zealand

It's a very nice city with a good few things to do. There are several bars, the best ones are down the back alley's and more underground (go down some stairs etc) Kind of like pubs really.

You want to visit the Astronomical Clock and do stuff on Charles bridge.

It's cheap as chips, bit more expensive then when I been a few times a good few years ago now, but still cheap. There is lots of hot chicks also, and some weird stuff.

Just be-careful as the czech police hate us British and some other foreigners, don't do anything wrong otherwise they will take ya passport of you and make you give them money to get it back, even one wheel over a white line on a car park could mean you paying them off £30 + to get ya passport back,if you do something more serious expect a real good beating even death down in the police cells. And don't go anywhere without your passport, take it everywhere with you.

You want to go into the cathedral and climb the 300 something steps. What a walk that was.

Can't you just use Trip advisor like everyone else? Seems a little inane to ask such specifics on Futuremark.

It costs about 50 pence to go to Prague. If I wanted to show of I'd talk about ****ing your mum, not my travel plans. There is nobody on here that would be impressed by a holiday I don't think. Maybe your mum.

I don't want specifics, I want to know if I should stay in the old or new town mainly.

Tripadvisor is full of pedantic people who want to know why you're going, what for, why you could possibly think it's a good idea.

This is GD, and forgive me, but this is a general discussion....

I'd protest, but the Kiwis and Aussies are probably a lot worse that the Brit's could ever wish to be when they get on the beer. bBnge drinking was popular here long before it took off in the UK! The bars used to close at 6pm, so the men would head there straight from work and drink as much as they could before closing!
Heck, I believe they have a separate tent at Oktoberfest well away from the other tents, just for the antipodian drunken yobs. [rolleyes]

Perhaps they should be claiming to be Canadian?
