Obviously something has gone on for Russia to win as England had by far the strongest bid, by quite allong way.

But FIFA have been against English football for many years (Plus the FIFA president is German, he don't like us to much and has been involved in corruption) The whole FIFA organization is corrupt.

Doesn't deserve to be held in USA IMO. But then again, neither do Russia.

I perhaps wish our press should have exposed FIFA officials after the vote rather than before; I'm pretty damn sure it hurt our vote to the point no matter how good our country would have been to hold it, it would have never won it even if it was against Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

Absolutely solidifies my statement that FIFA is corrupt now that Qatar just won 2022. Complete waste of resources to build there.

It's all about money/connections/bribery.

Since when do Qatar deserve to host football's biggest event? It's just a big joke really.

I agree. Completely rigged the US is a huge market and they just f**ked that up. FIFA is one more reason why that sport will never catch on here in the US. Too many poor countries with a small amount of power trying to make deals. Im not talking about Qatar, I am referring to the recent information released about certain African representatives offering to sell their votes.

US would be another great place to host (Just as England) but it's not about how good your bid is, it's about who will vote for you, and FIFA are against most things regarding English football despite them having the best training facilities, the best stadiums, the best fans, the home of football etc etc.

I don't think many are friends with the US in FIFA., for sure not Blatter.

I hope the BBC will make another program after this.

USA don't deserve it because they're only just hosted one relatively. 26 years compared to most European countries haven't hosted it for 50 years (*cough*). Also USA is hardly football mad.

Oh well.

/sits back and watches American football. Exactly.

So true but Americans also love to jump on bandwagons. You could sell the s**t out of the World Cup to the US and I guarantee that more money would be made than Qatar or Russia. Remember the US had the largest attended World Cup ever. Really the only hiccup is that we recently hosted it.... oh, and the rampant corruption that runs through FIFA. Im lumping shoddy refereeing with the corruption too. Some of the calls the last cup were clearly evidence to such allegations.

No thanks. Keep the FIFA WC out of the US. Last thing we need is another major international event to make our airports even worse.
