So according to WikiLeaks Russia is basically a mafia state, and we all know Qatar have loads of money.

Sounds right up FIFA's street to me!

Not according to WikiLeaks... but according to the USA's diplomacists. ( hope I spelled the last word correct)

-edit- and true about the FIFA, they are one big happy Maffia family with bending country's laws and pay less and get payed more.

Vote rigging may be a factor sure, but the way we have handled the Olympic bid, transportation. and public order i think may have been big factors?
All you have to do is look at how people vote for us in the eurovision to get an idea of how the world veiws us?

Oh there is a surprise a win for Russia. No matter, we only have the best stadiums in the world, with the best facilities and the most passionate supporters. Then of course you need to factor in what a great organisation that FIFA is, and how free from corruption and bribery they are.

One good news is, that some member of the Swiss parlement wants to change laws about tax paying for foundations.

If I am correct, the tax in Swiss to foundations is very low. This is about that a foundation should be a non-profit structure. But FIFA earns billions and is abusing the tax rule.

England only got 2 votes and went out at the first round, pretty strange considering it was the best bid huh?

Switzerland is a tax haven? STOP THE PRESSES!

But seriously folks, I think today puts the nail in the coffin as to where FIFA's priorities lie.

World's most corrupt and greedy sporting organisation chooses......one of the world's most corrupt nations and one of the world's richest!

USA don't deserve it because they're only just hosted one relatively. 26 years compared to most European countries haven't hosted it for 50 years (*cough*). Also USA is hardly football mad.

.
And Qatar deseveres it more? they don;'t even have stadiums!"

The amount of votes Qatar got is just crazy, purely about money.

So if they hold the World Cup in Qatar would it have to be held at a different time of year? Even now in December it's in the upper twenties C.

They're going to build air conditioned stadiums to combat the heat.

Yeah, makes me mad! England would have been the natural choice, I would have voted for you guys (but still, Blatter isnt German ).

While Russia is a mafia state and whatnot I dont think the decision is so bad, but giving a WC to Quatar is simply outrageous! Makes me mad!

I mean the whole world now is saying how corrupt FIFA is, but no one does anything about it. The national FA's should boycott the FIFA somehow. Ah what am I saying, I guess they're part of the whole scheme anyway. [cursing]

The media in this country didn't really help, but I don't think it mattered. The Qatar decision is bonkers. Or that's how it seems at this moment in time anyway.

He acts like it though! (Towards England anyway) But that's FIFA in general. Once upon a time English clubs where banned from European competition, (By Uefa but it's part of Fifa) but some of the other European country clubs have done some bad things also in recent times yet only get fines/warnings etc.

Well believe it or not Aussies were closely watching our bid for 2022. If there is a host country and city (Melbourne) that has a proven record to put on some of the best shows for top profile sporting events then I think we have an edge. Though it seems like from the start that Australia were not going to get a fair shake. The financial study to FIFIA said Australia would be the worst country financially for a return. I believe that FIFA got it wrong with the analysis of Aus, I think people would come far and wide to watch it here, as it's a fun and safe place to be.

Well this was our bid video which was presented by Elle MacPherson. One thing to note was not even one soccer player is in this video, they are all our other athletes... lol.

Anyhow Qatar... yeah well like someone said, enjoy the terrorist threats and no drinking laws.
