Default Another mining explosion...
27 unaccounted for underground following an explosion.

A couple of months ago the South Island also had a 7.1, 10km deep earthquake (same as Haiti) with no fatalities, thank goodness, and are still getting shallow aftershocks in the 4+ range.

Very sad ending. I hope they died quickly in the original blast and where not killed by this latest explosion.

I wonder why to? As mining is all about risk, people die, it's just the way it is.

Loads of people die in mining accidents every year in many of the poorer countries, why don't they ever report them all the time?

Yeah, dozens of people getting trapped down one mine, happens every day doesn't it?
It probably happens every 10 days or so. There are a lot of unstable mines in Africa ya know.
