Did anyone else go out tonight and see this movie? I did, and my thoughts are below in white... 8/10, I really liked the special effects--when they actually used them. The people who made Crysis are already mighty pissed I bet. [rofl] |

Here's the plot taken from Wikipedia (before it was removed).
This was the movie, verbatim. The movie opens with a shot of downtown Los Angeles at night. Several streams of blue light descend from the skies, awakening Elaine (Scottie Thompson) and Jarrod (Eric Balfour). The film cuts back 15 hours to show Elaine and Jarrod on their flight to L.A. They arrive at the apartment of Jarrod's friend Terry (Donald Faison), who is a successful special effects producer. Terry boasts of his luxurious life in the penthouse with a "starter yacht". The group begins to celebrate Terry's birthday with his girlfriend Candice (Brittany Daniel) and his assistant Denise (Crystal Reed). Later that night, one of Terry's employees, Ray (Neil Hopkins), welcomes Jarrod to L.A., thinking he has moved there to join Terry's company. Jarrod and Elaine are stunned by the news. During a private argument about whether or not they should move to L.A., Elaine reveals that she is pregnant. Their conversation is interrupted by Terry and Denise, who have been hooking up in the bathroom. After the party, everyone falls asleep. When Jarrod is awoken by the blue lights, he walks out to the living room to find Denise screaming about how Ray has disappeared. When Jarrod looks directly at the light, he is entranced by it. The light makes his eyes opaque and burns the blood vessels in his body. He starts to walk toward it, and Terry has to tackle him to stop him from walking off the balcony like Ray. After Jarrod recovers from the wounds of the light, he looks normal again. He and Terry decide to investigate on the roof of the high-rise. From the roof, they see several alien ships descend over the blue lights. The ships vacuum up thousands of humans. Horrified, they run back downstairs and the entire group argues about what to do. Everyone but Elaine wants to make a run for it to Terry's boat. On the roof, Jarrod had noticed that the water seemed to be free of spacecraft, and he agreed that it would be safe, overruling Elaine. The group splits up into two cars, with Terry and Denise in the lead. Just as they exit the underground garage of the high-rise, an alien stomps on Terry's Ferrari, killing Denise and tossing Terry from the car. Jarrod tries to save Terry, but he is captured by the alien. As they flee back into the apartments, they encounter another alien in the garage. The alien captures one of them and has them cornered when the concierge Oliver (David Zayas) slams into it with an Escalade, appearing to kill the alien. The man who had been swallowed by the alien is still alive. As they are trying to free him, the alien wakes up, sucks out the man's brain, and inserts his brain into its head, replacing one damaged by the hit. The brain fully revives the alien, almost as if it functioned like a battery. The group flees back into the high rise where they hole up once more. Jarrod becomes convinced that they must try again to get to the water. Oliver is insistent that they stay put in the penthouse. The Air Force launches a drone attack on the spaceships, nuking the biggest one. The bomb seems to work, causing the ship to collapse. However the aliens are not dead, and the ship starts to rebuild itself. Eventually, the water shuts down, and since the nuke took out the power and with the threat of radiation poisoning, Jarrod decides he and Elaine must flee. Oliver tries to restrain him, but Jarrod's eyes turn opaque and his veins start to burn again as they did when he was exposed to the light. He overpowers Oliver and swears that nothing will stop him from protecting his family. An army helicopter lands on the roof, dropping off two snipers with .50 caliber rifles. Jarrod and Elaine go to the roof, hoping to ride the next helicopter to safety, while Oliver and Candice elect to stay behind and continue hiding in the penthouse. The battle with the aliens continues all around them on the roof. In the penthouse, Candice is abducted off the balcony by an alien, which is killed by an RPG moments after it consumes her. Afterward, Oliver realizes that he, too, will not survive and turns on the gas from the oven. When an alien is about to kill him, he lights a cigarette lighter and blows them both up. Back on the roof, Jarrod and Elaine are trapped and realize that they are doomed. Together, they both look into the blue light of an alien ship. They embrace as they are sucked into the ship. It is then showed that the entire world is being decimated by these aliens. On board the alien spacecraft, Elaine watches as Jarrod's brain is removed from his body. She is spared this fate, however, when the alien sorter realizes that she is pregnant. Instead, Elaine is transported to another chamber, where she is prepped for the aliens to steal her unborn baby from her womb. When Jarrod's brain is inserted into an alien body, the alien possesses his memories because he has been exposed to the aliens' toxin enough to be resistant to it. Recognizing Elaine, the alien with Jarrod's brain caresses her gently and the credits roll with still photographs of Jarrod's alien fighting off other aliens, protecting Elaine and his unborn child. (end) |

Just back from the cinema.
Expected it will one of those b-movies, but im quite impressed with the CGIs in the movie. And yea.. first time in every gamers mind its.. "Didn't i see those aliens before?.." *hint Crysis2* ![]() Basically great CGI for a b-movie, shame abt the storytelling (too many dragging scenes..) as the concept of the story imo its not bad... something different.. By think of it.. in a way, reminded me of Cloverfield.. ^^; Cheers [rolleyes] |

The movie S-U-C-K-E-D
the plot is just way too non existent ***************************** SPOLIER ************************************** cheat death by a crashing flaming jet fighter and they survive because of the back fins cupped them from having it land on them.....like seriously?!?! you cant kill the damn space monkeys from hell because they auto regenerate...ugh huh ok they vacuum humans for their brains but the brains are then 50X increased in size when they go thru the canals..wtf?!! and the whole ending was just hilarious...the "red brain" gets its way thru and get inserted into one of their space monkeys and it was the protagonist controlling the monkey saving his love from a c section. all this for 21$ 2x adult tickets = malarky |
