At least toward anyone dressed in a suit.
Barney Smith? Are you saying you suit up like Barney?

[/how I met your mom]

In California it is much the opposite. Everyone thinks everyone else is well off unless there is some evidence to the contrary and in normal settings the laid back atmosphere tends to conspire against people dressed in suits. They're seen as uptight or pretentious. Of course, this is largely because people who can't afford the high land values, even after the real estate crash, have been driven out of the state so if you look middle class or upper class most people will treat you that way even if you're in swim trunks and flip flops (which everyone wears even in winter).

It's hard to argue with that assumption too when he goes home to a $1 million house and is driving a BMW.

I remember the only time I ran into a New Yorker and said excuse me they looked at me like I had 6 heads. Maybe somebody needs to take these young ladies to the South for some good manners training.

NY sexual marketplace is one of the most cuthroath that exist. Female hypegamy goes beserk when exposed to so many options and can't bring itself to settle even for a good catche. Add to this lack of slut shaming and its not hard to see why the NY number of life partners for the average women is much higher than the rest of the US esp. Flyover country.

Anyone with game will have a great time there.

Edit: Be carefull though the rationalization hamester that eternaly spins the wheel of solpsism in every womans mind has rabies if the girl has spent more than a few years of her youth in a metropolis.

It's probably because of Axe deodorant.

You seem to be confused. I don't like Navy guys. Too many STDs and daddy issues.

It's cute how people who sail ships around waters in the least desirable parts of the world think they're a catch.

I heard/read somewhere that there's a male deficit in NYC. Is that true?
Yes. The ratio is favorable to men on the east coast and women on the west coast. Cause we're pioneers out west.

So NY women = desperate and LA women = stuck-up? Fits the preconceptions I've gotten from American TV pretty well if so.

Its alright cupcake, just because I don't date down doesn't mean you won't find someone who does some day. Or maybe try batting in your own league?
Y'know, I'm almost ashamed to just now have realized: you're named after western civilization's first and best-known martial catamite. No, I'm not insulting you (at least, not intentionally), but when you chose the name were you playing up Navy stereotypes or what?

The fact that the character is labeled a homosexual never entered my head as a relevant criteria for choosing of not choosing the name as handle. Its not important to me.

In all actuality I discovered the internet in the mid ninties while reading the Illiad for high school and I liked the character for a whole host of reasons. I have used it every since.
