Just wish that the truck looked better. ![]() Finally a baseline V6 that can WORK! Sweetness on not only the 2 very traditional V8's, a big one and small one, but a Twin-Turbocharged V6 that makes an awful lot of torque! I just wonder if it can hold up for truck duty. All that it is missing is a sub 4L Diesel. |

That v6 does look awfully sweet, but i worry about longevity with 2 turbos on a V6 as a work truck, I have a dodge ram with a 4.7 V8 and after some of the hauls it has been through in these mountains i feel like a turbo v6 would have blown up already.
I mean pulling a 5000lb boat up a 4.7-5.1% grade for 7 miles isn't an easy thing to do. LOL... duran you're a fool, stop being a stereotyping douche or go back to your hobbit hole buddy. |

not sure what gives you the impression a turbo engine will blow up while towing I'd imagine that it isn't the same thing that you would find in the SHO. I'd imagine that a lot of parts would be changed out for stronger stuff. I think that it is a great motor. Hopefully 3.7L V6 economy with 6.2L Torque. Great for those who don't tow everyday, but do need to tow heavy loads every now and again. |

The V6's that are currently used and were used are good engines, just weak, old, underpowered and bad economy.
Chevy 4.3L 200/260 Dodge 3.7L 210/235 Ford 4.0L 200/240 They are not horrible engines, but they got V8 economy, slow, can struggle to pull a load if you try to max them out which is around 5,000lbs iirc. Sale figures for these V6's are horrible. With the redesigned F150, Ford actually dropped their V6 and added a V8. But hopefully, V6's like this will get economy better than their V8 counterparts and be more drivable. The Ram is supposed to get the 3.6L V6 Pentastar next year I think, so that will be exciting. That will leave Chevy to put in their 3.6L V6 as well. |

My co worker towed his 'home' from Florida to New Mexico. I think us Brits don't understand this desire to tow, and can't for the life of us imagine what it is that get's towed up mountainsides. I think it's just one of our cultural differences. |

Britain isn't the place for towing 5 tonne powerboats around. I've never known anyone here to ponder on the difficulties of dragging a tree around with them either. Its not uncommon over here. Growing up, we'd tow our boat (~6000 pounds) to the lake on a regular basis, which meant driving through parts of the Texas Hill Country. While not mountain roads by any stretch, It would've been impossible with anything less than a V8 or big diesel V6. |
