whats with all the vampire stuff
 

Occasionally I enjoy a good tv show or movie, but recently pretty much 80% of the high budget shows are related to vampires, werewolves and some sort of other creature.. What's the appeal??? I watch true blood.. while its a weird show and sometimes disturbing it has this thing to it that makes you wanna watch more.

I admit that I watch True Blood.. has lots of tits in it.

Nice and gruesome too.

All the other vampire stuff is crappy teenage bollocks.

Anything without sparkling vampires is OK in my book.

never watched true blood.. I just dont like monsters I guess or shows that don't take itself seriously..
I like shows such as White Collar, Burn Notice etc but the seasons just ended and I have nothing to watch :p

I have my DVR record True Blood and it is entertaining enough, then again HBO seems to always make good shows. I also like the southern setting.

Worst show ever from HBO :P and OZ was terrible too but I agree most shows on HBO are great.
AMC shows are awesome too

Im not saying i dont like the character..just the scenes itself and the way the other guy looks at lafayette..ugh

True Blood is probably my favorite show on TV aside from Mad Men. I agree that it has some kind of southern charm that just keeps in continually appealing (not to mention it's a show geared toward adults both conversation wise and physically). Lets be honest too, the gay stuff is thrown in for the ladies, and despite it being annoying Lafayette is easily one of the best characters on that show

Twilight, Vampire Diaries, etc etc all suck a big fat one.

The romantic stuff is aimed for the ladies of course and it's probably like Star Gate or Spartacus but for the other side. :p

About Burn Notice, I think it's awesome! It will be returned as mid-season this November! [thumbup]

The only vampire show I like is Moonlight. Less romantics and more serious point of view about vampires, at least compared to the rest.

Don't like True Blood at all, personally. I'm all for a more mature take on vampires but there was just nothing about the show that appealed to me personally. Didn't care for the characters, setting, or storylines either.

I know I'll be drawn and quartered for this but it's just how I feel.
Wasn't the whole show pretty much about his unresolved feelings towards Sophia Myles? I don't remember.

I thought the show was kind of generic though. Also felt more like a cop show than it did a show about vampires, but maybe that's just me.

Ya true but I ignored that, I watched it more for the main character's trait as an PI and his old friends.
