Why do some people do this?
 

Growing up as a kid I used to see the odd kid do it here and there, but now I even see some adults doing it, and it just boggles my mind because it seems like such a disgusting thing to do an yet I'm sure there's a reason why people do it, nerves, bad habit, maybe they actually like the ta...OK I'm just gonna stop before I puke.

I'd hardly call it a rare cuisine, you can get it at the fish and chip shop, or the local KFC if you speak to the staff in just the right way!

My wife used to do that when she was younger. She told me that it actually tasted good so that is part of the reason, I guess.

It is better than stick in furniture, isn't it, though? That's what I do if I fail to flip it off my finger to the ground.

At least eating it, while disgusting, isn't putting it where you're going to be putting your hands!
FFS, is it so hard to carry a handkerchief - or at least use a restroom's paper to blow their noses?

I feel like I'm going to throw up just thinking about it...

However, from a sanitary point of view, it's just the same as sniffing in snot when you've got a blocked nose and then swallowing it.

My son also does it (although i constantly give him crap for doing so)

it generally tastes salty just like snot. But it also depends on where you have been/what you are doing. if you were outside where there is a lot of dust/dirt then your chunks will taste bad and be somewhat chalky.

Can't say I've ever experienced that when I've had a blocked nose.

All of them are unlikely. Only chicks carry Kleenex packs.

Speaking of which, someone at work has a habit of wiping boogers on the bathroom wall, Im pretty sick of it as they are quite large and have nose hairs in them as well.[thumbdown]

I used to do it a lot when I was young. It's really no different from sniffing hard, 'sucking' it into your mouth and spitting it all out is it (although not everyone does that my gf told me but it's a good way to clear your nose without a tissue). I guess it gets more germs on it though if you use your hands/fingers to pull it out.

I tend not to eat my own bogeys anymore as it is frowned upon (lol), but it doesn't taste bad though it's just your bogeys for **** sake and the texture was eerily satisfying. Maybe I should get back into! http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/tongue1.gif
