not really.

cos theres legally sober and legally drunk.

then there's

you feel physically sober, you feel physically drunk.

but you can be legally drunk even though you feel physically sober

and 3 drinks over here 99% of the time means you are over the limit
But can you be legally sober but physically drunk?

i guess.

i hardly see why i am even trying to defend myself in the first place. i was just trying to make an argument that i guess no one else agrees with.

please excuse me but i must go put people in danger now.

yes, if you are a diabetic, forget to take your meds and drive.

well you exhibit the symptoms of being drunk at the wheel

If I even sniff a wine gum I don't drive...

alcohol and machinery does not mix, no matter how Little you've drunk, its still in your brain blocking the synapses from firing correctly

I have been breathalised (by a rozzer at our rugby club, not whilst out driving) after 3 pints of Guinness and passed, but I did weigh 22 stone at the time.

This doesn´t exist in Germany, not sure about the UK though
Over here stores are forced to close during weekdays at 8:00 pm, Sunday´s they´re closed.
It sucks and is tbh the main thing i missed when coming from the US to Germany.
The only place you can buy a few things are at gas stations (which also sell alcohol, yet to terribly high prices)

24 hour drinking does make sense, it shouldn't mean anyone should be drinking 24 hours in a row, but it does make sense. I can think of times where I've been out dancing until 6 am. I can also think of times where I've woken up at 6 am and went down to the pub to meet some of my friends for a big soccer match (matches in Europe and the last two world cups have early morning games if you live on the US east coast). Therefor, I cannot think of a time of day when drinking should be banned.

On the driving issue, get over it. One or two drinks before driving is not going to put a car into a wall for a 200+ pound guy and is perfectly legal. Zero tolerance people should also consider requiring a law that people must sleep for at least 8 hours before driving. Driving while tired is just as dangerous as driving with a low BAC (lets say below 0.03).

Sure it does, as in example, look at the 3 shift working people.
When i get home at 6:30 in the morning and would like a beer before going to bed, where am i to go ?

Agreed, on top of that, I think it's a lot better for clubs as well. When the clubs and bars are all forced to close at the same time then you get hundreds of drunk people spilling out into the streets at the same time, people are everywhere, demand for taxis, food and public transport are high and it leads to more confrontations and violence.

If everywhere is open 24/7 then people leave when they are ready to leave and people come and go at a steady stream, meaning less strain on the surrounding area and less fighting.
