So, got to fiddle with one today and loved it. Pretty neat device. $8/mo for the 2 year plan ain't too shabby.

Though, I am just wondering if there is a device just like this that has free subscription by picking up local channels over the air.
Where I live, I get like 12 channels over the air, all which are free. Would be cool to have this same device, but give me free TV.

I work on FLO. I'm assuming you got to play with the stand alone PTV device? Personally I prefer the phones with FLO.

A handheld portable tv with an antenna would do what you're describing. Something like http://www.amazon.com/Casio-EV-570-H.../dp/B00005T3SM

As for free channels, the company is reviewing things right now but I don't expect them to ever pick up broadcast tv signals.
