So my partner and I are getting bored with Canada -- too cold, too snowy, too nice. The jobs here are boring, and the people bland.

We're thinking of uprooting ourselves and moving to The Philippines, in part because of how beautiful it looks from the pictures people have posted here. I've heard nothing but great things about the country. And my dollar goes far there!

I found a "Foreigner's Guide to Real Estate in the Philippines" post online: http://hubpages.com/hub/Foreigners-G...he-Philippines
Does anyone know how accurate this is?

And if possible, I'd like to find out the going rate for the kind of compound we'd like to build or buy.

We would like a house with a large master bedroom (big enough for me and my partner, plus an undisclosed number of other people who may come and go). There needs to be room for approx 30-40 people to live in the compound. They need not get their own room, I'd be fine with them sharing rooms. Of course, a big kitchen is a must also -- gotta feed them somehow!

Nice-to-haves include:
- Discrete back door
- Private dock
- EnergyStar 4.0 compliant appliances

Thanks in advance!

Don't say that your hammock is better.
Or what? What is the frame of reference for dire consequences of hammock comparison?

It's clearly the Phils equivalent of dick size, and Aeson made Lancer feel distinctly inadequate.

Was this intentional Kuci-bait, or do I need to make up some daft remark about doors flowing seamlessly into the wall?
Was a joke on several levels.

A forum-wide consensus emerged from it that Lancer is a dirty pimp who abuses third-world women or something.

I'm relatively sure this has been the consensus opinion for a while now.

Matchmaker is OK, and there isn't anything inherently wrong (many girls do, even in the first world) with considerations of the man's ability to provide in the selection process. I didn't have a real problem with Lancer until recently, when he tried to connect a girl he knew to some new passerby on apolyton (who he didn't know anything about) and because of his poor behavior with respect to Aeson.

I didn't follow the soap opera with regards to Aeson, but do you really think
Lancer would marry off a girl to a passerby? You connect people, they exchange
letters, images of themselves, talk on the phone, whatnot, before they even
shake hands for the first time months or years in the future. It's a process.
That's the problem for me.

I was only interested if he would wrap one up and ship her over (after beating the Catholic out of her of course). Still waiting...

We're just waiting for Civ5 Sloww. The owners are under the mistaken impression we just need a new Civ release and all will be fine.

It takes a long time to beat the Catholic out. I'd hook up with another girl in the meantime, if I were you.

Way to bump a two month old thread.

You just couldn't stay away from the drama? Slow night at the panda forum?

You guys never heard of replying to a friend? No, maybe not. Really, its rather common, take my word, I live by it.

AAHZ, I'm not much of a dancer but I do sing if I have a few beers in me. Last week I went across the street to my friend's place, a notorious place to go if youi want to kick and have a blast, and after the beers we ended up at the Karaoke and sang our hearts out.

Oh yes? Which one and how much should I tell the poor people that you want? No, rather I will put you in contact with them directly. Was it the Mills family or the Rayes?
