The problem with you island monkeys (and I say this with lots of love) is that your stereotypical views on Americans, are ironically formed by watching American TV shows, such as Jerry Springer, Geraldo, Montel, and Fox news.

The phrase "I could care less" makes about as much sense to me as a 14 year-old kid dressed in burberry sweatpants, drinking a beer, smoking a cigarette, and pushing his 4 kids down the street, while shamelessly shouting profanaties at anyone who walks by.

And by the way David Mitchell, they're called braces. Good god man, fix those things. You're gonna put an eye out.

I can only go by what I see on here; and in my experience 99% of the Americans here use the phrase "I could care less".

Lol, David Mitchell is one of those guys i find really irritating to watch, but he is so funny sometimes that you sort of love to hate him, he sounds so classically British, i don't think anyone in the UK actually sounds like that anymore, unless they live/work in Buckingham Palace.

RicyReetred 06-13-2010 11:54 PM

That was about as funny as breathing in Zyklon B

Reiterate is one that pulls my chain!
Iterate means to repeat so they're saying to re-repeat [rolleyes]

You don't like being the butt of a joke? I thought that would be something you'd be used to by now. Show us your nipple. Again. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/wink1.gif

There is a difference between being the butt of a joke and just plain shitty comedy. This one is the latter.

A conundrum that you must ponder about yourself on a daily basis. You have my sympathies, for what they're worth coming from a gap-toothed imperialist, naturally.

It's nice to see someone finally acknowledge the social awkwardness involved in the typical haircut.

Hahahahah. That's gold.

Brewpralgar 06-14-2010 12:33 AM

i think the whole discussion is kinda stupid,
I watched the vid, and tbh there are things out there that i couldnīt care less about and there are things out there i could care less about.
both, depending on the situation make sense to me.

The whole point of reiterate is to make it clear that you are repeating instructions already given. It's all to do with context.

NO!
To iterate would be to make it clear that I was repeating instructions (or whatever) already given - the "re" is redundant.
Would you say rerepeat or just repeat?
