Help needed from the Deutsche amongst us
 

A few years ago my wife and I had a vacation in Berlin. We had a great time: so much so that I sing the praises of the city to anyone within earshot and one of my students has now booked a week long holiday there, with is girlfriend. I've got a wee list of places we think he should visit/see/explore (in no order of preference):

Checkpoint Charlie
Potsdamer Platz
Reichstag
Schloss Charlottenburg
Jewish Mueseum
Fernsehturm
Zitadelle Spandau
Deutsches Technikmuseum
Brandenburg Gate
Gendarmenmarkt
Pergamonmuseum

Any additional suggestions would be most welcome, particularly if folks know of good places to visit that are within, say, an hour of travelling by train, etc from Berlin.

The Arts Akadamie

Thanks for the suggestions - they don't really know exactly what they want to see; I offered to come up with a list of places that I think are worth visiting but since they're half my age, I should imagine that they will probably only pick at a few items.
