Why would you even want one anyway?

Because it's visible during the day, and because you can use it for pointing out stars at night?

I never had a red laser to play with, so I thought, why not go green. I have no need, it was a random act of ebaying.

Not to mention lighting fireworks over 300' away.

Serious? It's a lightsaber, who wouldn't want one.

Just don't drop it down a long tunnel shaft like in the movie. . .

Blue is a bad color for these "toy" lazers. The light wavelength is too small and makes it harder to see. That's why most lasers are red or green, easier to see at lower power. That and red and green gives off more light output compared to the amount of electrical input.

I dug around from that link before and found vid of one they made that burns through a block of wood, or some other material, I forget exactly what now. But they do have more interesting projects there.

How something dangerous like that is even allowed to be sold to anyone in public?
I find this odd, owning that thing should require a license of some kind, it is considered a weapon

It's still a sword of some kind which mean it's used in melee. A gun can be used at distance.

How cool to have one for uhm..rare training.

Or to shine it in the eyes of airline pilots

That is awesome. And useless. It's too dangerous to use unless you just want to light things on fire from a distance. But even then if other people are around you could hurt them.

Edit: I mean if it can honestly blind people (and that's what they claim) it really shouldn't be sold to the public. I'm not big on the whole "BAN DANGEROUS STUFFS" bandwagon, but we're talking about a laser pointer, an item traditionally misused by retarded kids everywhere. I've had red lasers shined in my eyes numerous times by people thinking it's cool to be a douche. The last thing we need is some retard thinking he's a jedi and waving that thing around in a crowded place.
