I disagree, in my life being a pessimist has done me alot of good.

It'll always save you from disaster or misfortune on occasion. I'm not saying it's wrong to sometimes be pessimistic. But if your so pessimistic, you'll never take a chance. People often don't like pessimistic people and it seems depressive.

Being as you are doesn't get you many friends on here, but that might be more to do with being devils advocate.

I apologize ditto.

I'm not a pessimist but its something Ive seen on a regular basis when I'm on ops or exercises and on stations in my career.

I apologise OHP, I know your not a complete pessimist, but I know sometimes you can tend to pick out the negatives.

Ive known a few people get dumped by their Wife's and Girlfriends in Afghanistan via E-blueys because they've decided they want to play the field

I have made the decision that if I was to get married I would leave the armed forces because it puts a lot of strain on any relationship due to operational commitments and its not fair on me or my future wife and children, extra marital activities aside.

basic training/boot camp is hard for people in relationships its almost akin to going to college especially if its mixed sex recruit training, then you have trade training which is pretty much one massive party then once you enter active service there's the long periods away from each other.

its gonna be hard work ditto but hopefully the US military is more "married couple" friendly that what the British forces is.

there's no sand in my vagina Im happy for her I'm merely giving her an incite into forces life and its pitfalls

True, after all - you're not a high flyer until you're driving a Civic!

[rofl]

as funny as your comment is I consider Kyros to be a good friend and I do value his comments.

and Mikey is doing well with his life as he landed a good job as a civvy contractor for the MOD

but on this occasion his comment in this subject was poorly executed, because I am not a pessimist, I just was speaking of my observations noticed over my career and not of personal experience.

I wouldn't want to be part of a married couple in the forces in this current climate. [no]

errrrrm not many people can afford to run something like a Civic Type R in this country unless they're company car drivers or a lot older than I am. I do consider myself to be doing quite well. Thanks also Mr Stevo.

I meant new Civic Type R. I don't see how that s so funny, do you have any idea what it cost's to run and buy a car like that?... didn't think so. So it's probably best you don't try laughing at me.

Why are you asking me questions and then answering them yourself? Do you always talk to yourself and get so defensive over your car? [rofl]

No, but your laughing at your own jokes. I don't need to get defensive over a well thought of car that only financially comfortable people can own.

Also I can change light switches myself without asking on a forum.
