Well maybe he just had a rough day.

I personally hate cases on phones, I don't like the extra size it adds and they can make the buttons hard to use (I guess not too much of an issue with the iphone). If you look after it then the actual phone housing should do the trick. If it gets scratches or damaged you can just buy a new housing for it.

I just bought an Iphone. I need a case. Can someone recommend me one? I'm more concerned w/ durability than leather. Something with a screen protector would be a bonus, but not a must.

anyways, there are hundreds of options out there. Not sure what brands/types are best?

I use an Incipio case. Got it off ebay for ~£10, it came with 2 screen protectors. Thinnest and best case I've seen for a reasonable price.

The Incipio cases are very nice, don't add any extra bulk to the phone and feel quite nice too.

I just picked up the below case. I'm preferring it to the Incipio case as it covers the chrome frame of the iphone and feels more sturdy.

Also, if you're looking to get a screen protector which reduces glare and finger marks get something like this:

Bear in mind though that the Incipio and Switcheasy cases come with standard screen protectors.

Seriously buddy, you get a phone worth £500++ then expect it to survive the harsh rigours of your average joe's pocket (coins, keys etc) and then when it gets a couple of cracks your surprised.

I would have immediately bought a screen protector and a nice flip open leather case,
Actually I DID, when I bought my got my old Samsung Omnia, £10 for the screen protector and £15 for the leather case and do you know what, A year later sold it in A1 condition, as good as it came out the box.

Seriously, get some common sense!
I bought an iPhone partly because I like how it looks, which is ruined with a case on it. No other phone I have ever owned has been damaged like this, including three other iPhones. I expect it to get scratched but I don't expect the case to fall apart. And from my experience of Apple they wouldn't have swapped it if the damage was wear and tear!

Can anyone recommend a case for my car, wallet, sat nav, pen, watch and coat. I've just realised that I am stupidly carrying all of these things around without any protective housings!!!

I can't believe that there are actually people who are so gullible that they think it's acceptable for a £500 product not to have been manufactured with enough quality control to survive being in a pocket.

All apple products looks nice, but many don't wear very well. Everything from MacBook's, iPods, iPhones all scratch and often drop to bit's under normal conditions.

Don't tell them that, they'll get upset if they can't find fault with whatever I say!

Fair enough!

One of my mates has just bought an iPhone and the ba$tards never off it, can't get a word outta him all night and he's like a little kid, downloading the light sabre sound app and all the other stuff that sounds cool but in reality is so, so sad!

He was an unsociable oik before he got the iphone, now he's totally unbearable.

I think he did buy a blue silicon wrap type of case for it though, only cost a few quid from ebay, apparently!

After doing some more research it turns out that in a lot of cases it was actually the case that caused the cracking, or it happened even with a case on.

Sadly though, any kind of research gets in the way of belittling people on these forums.

The funniest thing about this thread is that only a week ago you gave me an infraction for "insulting a moderator" - which I have to say gave me the best laugh I've had in ages. I seriously considered sending you a dummy in the mail!

But now it seems that moderators are allowed to insult posters....either a) the forum rules are a bit of a joke, or b) you were a terrible choice for the moderation team, or c) you hadn't shown your true colours when you were picked.

My money is on a combination of b and c.

That is nice but I didn't insult you.

Observations at most.

I suggest that you look up the definition of an insult....

By admitting that you couldn't be bothered looking up some facts before making your glib comments you also admit that you think you are more important than me. That is an indirect insult.

You have absolutely no idea about social etiquette, manners, or how to behave in adult company in a social situation do you?

moderators are exactly this:

to moderate (observe) the forums, correct issues between users and punish unruly users but not engage in slanging matches with its own users.

this is something I do observe with you as a moderator on these boards, and I do feel that you do enjoy it too,no other mods are this way.
