You could give it to him in pennies in a big bag. Or you could get a difficult puzzle box and put the money inside and then he would have to try to open it.

It's for my brother. He wants nothing but "money" for his birthday, so I want to give him what he wants, but with a twist. More than anything, I want to have a laugh at his expense, and then maybe go out for a beer afterward (if he doesn't slug me, of course).
Then the silver coins would work. Buy him a couple of Silver Eagles they are technically money with a face value of one dollar. If you are lucky it will take him ages to figure out the silver is worth about 20 times that.

Hmmm, my thought of a post dated cheque that he couldn't cash for a while seems rather boring compared to the nastyness of some of you evil, twisted individuals!

This is what I was going to suggest, a bunch of pennies in a gift bag or something like it.

tell him that his gift is at the local orphanage (other charity) and when you get there he has to decide to keep the check or donate it.

win win either way.

My uncle once gave me a card boxed wrapped in £££ notes...wrapped in sticky back plastic. It took me weeks and weeks to open, first to remove the wrapping and then to remove each note without ripping it.

Could have punched him for it but it was bloody hilarious at the time!

if you go to walmart and send a money gram to him, you have to make up a secret question answer type thing. You can make the question/answer pretty raunchy if you want that way he has to give them the answer you set up or he cant get the money.

Perhaps not evil, but you could make a treasure map. Have him running all over town for the hidden clues to unearth a large bag of pennies. Could take some work and planning on your part, but could be worth it.
