Very nice!

I'm trying to find a blued .357 Smith & Wesson, shrouded hammer, snub nose to replace my Taurus.

Follow-up shots are very different. It takes a substantial amount of practice to pull off multiple .357MAG shots in rapid succession.

They must be fun to shoot recreationally, or for hunting but I couldn't imagine using them for SD... especially indoors with no hearing protection. Although I can imagine you wouldn't need to actually HIT anyone with the first shot. Upon hearing this thing he'd jump out of the window, 5th floor or not. Even a 9mm is jarring, a .45ACP is nearly intolerable without plugs... I can imagine this would make your eardrums bleed.

That being said, it would be a great gun to carry into the deep woods if you can't take a rifle.

I doubt he bought it to carry around. It's not that kind of gun.
It's awesome to be at the shooting range firing 38 special rounds and then suddenly start firing .357 rounds. People ALWAYS start looking around trying to find where the concussion came from. I've seen more than one dude jump after I fire the .357 when he wasn't expecting it. When firing the .357, you can feel the pressure around you... it's not just the sound. Also at the gun range, everyone has hearing protection on.

Indeed... He must fit well into the flock...

This is the FIRST wheelgun I've considered buying: Smith & Wesson TRR8

But just for giggles/jollies... For any type of in-home defense, a suppressed HK45 suits me just fine.

[rofl] yeah, 44 definitely puts me in the league of Dirty Harry...

I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?
its on my never ending list[yes]

Real men use .454 casull!

I have a GP100 as well. Stainless steel frame, 4" barrel. Nice gun all around.

BTW, to confuse dangermoose even more, a .357 magnum and .38 fire the same caliber bullet, however the .357 sig fires the same caliber bullets as the 9mm (.355). Also, a .44 magnum fires a .429 caliber bullet.

its not a gun i will carry daily, it will be a range gun and hunting gun. they have holsters that will actually put the gun basically across your chest so it isn't a burden while getting into/out of the woods, and even cross draw holsters with a heavy gun belt would be doable. but yes, it would be bulky to carry around daily.

oh i will have fun with it!

be sure to spout off how dangerous driving a car is in car threads, because im willing to bet anything there are more horror stories about car accidents than gun accidents
The critical difference being! a car is made to transport you from place to place, a gun is designed purely to kill...
Enough said i think?
Oh apart from : if you dont want anyone to flame you for boasting i mean posting about the size of your gun lol, then post it somehwere there arent civilised people about, i.e. not on a techie website, thank you & good evening

Guns should all be thrown in a big oven and melted, and there would be one massive problem solved in this world, but like emmisions and taking care of the earth, you dont give a sh*t, so why not angrily run everything in this beautiful world into the ground and destroy it? who cares huh

The ignorance is astounding. How do you function in your daily life being so oblivious and holier than thou?

Guns were designed to shoot a projectile at a high rate of speed. It's the person holding the gun who decides whether to kill or not.

I'm pretty sure wizkid isn't going to kill anyone. But for someone as ignorant as you this may be very hard to comprehend. Should I type this in big colorful letters to make it easier for you to understand?

Not worth it. His beliefs are driven by emotion rather than reason, and there is nothing that you can say or do to change that. Politics combined with emotion can corrupt the mind to an unrecoverable state.

Honestly, my monthly kill count now is half of what it was before I bought a gun.

Lol your ignorance blows me away, so you think guns were designed just to fire a small projectile and thats it? hahaha!
And what do you think this projectile was intentded for? yep thats right dumbass, to kill...
So please look at your own ignorance before calling me it
And no i dont "think" wizkid will kill another human being, i hope not anyway, but who is to say that we have the right to shoot anything that lives and breathes? we dont own the earth, and the earth wasnt created for man to rule and do as he pleases, so have a think about it, please!
Actually scrub everything ive mentioned, go ahead buy as many guns as you can, while you can, the sooner humans are extinct the better off earth will be

To the OP, would you use the open sights on that revolver for hunting or would you use a red dot sight or scope ?

As you said yourself, it takes a good shot to consistently hit a target (dead centre or not) with a .357 with open sights, and even getting consistently close grouping could be difficult.

I fired a .44 Model 29, same as clint eastwood used (well his character anyway) in a London shooting range once with my father and that thing packed such a recoil it nearly tore my shoulders from their sockets, I was only about 17 though and a bit of a weedy bugger.

The owner of the gun whose arms were like tree trunks was shooting it one handed and my father and I watched amazed, since we had both experienced the recoil on the gun.

Also what slugs do you use for hunting ??

A Hollow point or maybe FMJ, as long as it has good mushrooming quality, I guess.
