But that dog with rabies wasnt in control of millions of other dogs with rabies was it?
The guy was in complete control of one of the most powerful countries on earth as far as destructability goes, if theres any nation that are the best at destroying things its the US in first place by a long shot!
Bush and Hitler actually have more in common than youd think, its just with media control and certain key words like "evil terrorists" he brainwashed the majority of the country into agreeing with him, pretty much exactly what hitler did, both men are monsters, and i consider them to be the top murderers, a million times worse than any croc or lioness...)
lmao, Bush did some pretty stupid things, but to compare him to Hitler?

'Cause one man is representative of the whole human race [rolleyes]. I'm pretty sure he did it for good. I was so busy cleaning my guns that when he suggested the idea I was all for it. I raised my rifle in the air, shot off a few rounds, and bit into the side of a live rat and kicked a baby just because I could.

These powerful humans you speak of are a tiny fraction of the whole human population. I saw a dog with rabies once. I'm pretty sure dogs should be exterminated now because that one dog was dangerous.
me too! except for the last part, i clubbed a seal instead

lmao, Bush did some pretty stupid things, but to compare him to Hitler?
i'de love to hear what he thinks about the current POTUS with his agenda going on, lol

In 7 years of being here that's the first time someone's mentioned that lol

I just don't see why the UK is treated as a country.
Unless you were born before 1707 I don't know why you have such a problem with the concept. Do you also have a problem with Prince Charles?

I just don't see why the UK is treated as a country, I'm English and that's as much a nationality as I need.

(And just to cover this base, there's nowt wrong with the other home nations )
TBH I've always wondered why you put that too. I just assumed you were trying to make some kind of statement.

I understand the concept ta muchly but the idea that the UK is a country to me dilutes the real countries cultures and heritage.

Can't imagine too many Highland farmers are willing to let some southern townie claim their Scottish history.

Same reason people (yourself included?) keep talking to Xeo?

Curiosity perhaps?

stupid am i? its just an opinion. I wonder how many people buy guns for defence than for sport?
I used to competition shoot at bisley.

its a very disciplined sport, but obviously you get the odd ****-nosher whose gun crazy and gets thrown off the range for unsafe drills

That makes absolutely no sense though. The Union has existed for over 300 years and has arguably seen some of its greatest times during those centuries. After all it was Britannia that ruled the waves. 300 years, get it? It is history. It's not like calling the place the United Kingdom diminishes Elizabeth I or Henry VIII. They are still as much a part of history a James I. You are a citizen of The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and are ruled over by the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. If you are so adamant about not being from the UK I suggest you renounce your citizenship and return your passport. The fact that you offered about the Highland farmers invalidates what you are saying, clearly the Union has done nothing to dent national identity within Great Britain.

And to answer you spoon, yes i am a hypocrit too, but i do my very best to try and make things better, everything in my place is energy saving, i ride my pushbike if on a short/medium journey, i recycle, buy low wattage technical equipment where i can, but like the yanks with theyre precious guns, its ingrained into our society...
!
what rock did this self-loathing-deluded-pinko-dunderhead crawl out from under? stop running your mouth....... Go back to watching Avatar [rofl] that is if you can stomach Human Corporations blowing up a gargantuan tree with spiritual energy and lifeforce...[rofl]

also, I love it when Europeans lecture Americans about how much destruction we reap. It's patently absurd. Europeans in the 20th Century were responsible for more death and destruction than in the entirity of human history. Including 2 absolutely savage World Wars and a death toll in the 500 million range[rolleyes] What's worse, you have an imbecille leftist from the UK comparing Bush to Hitler. You've got to be kidding me. [rolleyes] Oh, and btw, you're own fecking country has gone along with US policy hook line and sinker for the past 75 years[rofl] coasting on our coat-tails picking up leftover scraps. You should be glad the US is powerful and it's citizens are proficient with guns. What's more we've spent trillions defending Europe over the years (not to mention financing it's rebuilding after europeans utterly destroyed thier own continent twice over).

gotta love those Europeans with short memories. They caused more death and destruction in human history (and within a lifetime or so....many of your grandfathers and fathers were culpable), yet they obsess and project it all onto Americans.[thumbup]

to be clear, I'm not referring to all europeans, rather europeans with attitudes similar to esp88

anyways, back to saving the planet! I think I'm going to drive to the supermarket and buy some fair trade coffee and co-op organic produce flown 3,000 miles on a 747 from Guatamala. Then I think I'll hang out in the parking lot giving nasty looks to anyone who didn't bring thier own grocery bags. Things like this make me a good person, not to mention superior to all the brainwashed folks who don't constantly TALK Nonsense about what they do to save the enviroment.

Actually, I would argue that his use of the word works in that context.

I don't think it does!

But then again, words have different meanings ( grammar can be different too) from our side of the water to yours, and visa versa, So what may sound stupid to you lot, might not sound as stupid to us lot.

Well, it's more that he is personifying stupid and using the word as a noun.

Ok still not getting it, probably my previous explanations but hey ho.
I've got nothing against the Union but I'm English. To me, Scotland, Wales et al are separate countries. Same as any where in Europe. We've got a closly intertwined history but there's loads of neighboring countries which share history.

Obviously this is shooting from the hip what with me not being from there but are there any Scandinavians that can comment? Do you think of yourself as Swedish/Norwegian etc way before thinking of yourself as Scandinavians?

I'll answer that. Yes, they definately do.

as an aside, when did Englishmen insist on referring to themselves as "from the UK"? I could have sworn that when I was a kid, people from England, Scotland would say "I'm from England" or "I'm from Scotland" afaik, most Scots and Welsh still tend to say this "I'm from Wales" (not from UK) anyways, was there some sort of concerted gov. politically correct campaign to make sure everyone says "I'm from the UK"

I've always wondered that.

That's pretty much all I'm getting at with my "location".

I'm not ragging on the UK, I just want to be called English before I'm called British or From The UK.

No we don't have a closely intertwined history. We have three centuries of joint history. As the British we fought the French, and the Germans, twice. As the British we perfected steam power and led the Industrial revolution. As the British we sailed the finest ever navy. As the British we commanded an Empire greater than Rome. Then we kind of lost it

Our finest hour was the Battle of Britain. There's nothing wrong with identifying with your home country but rejecting the Union itself or comparing it to Europe is plain stupid.

Reason it's called that? Why, might it have something to do with this little island being called Britain by any chance?
