And you know I'm viewing them on my computer, lol. Those two facts alone show that my computer monitor can produce better pictures than what I am looking at. The pics are means to show the TV and its immediate surroundings anyway. |

Yeah, I know a lot is lost in translation, but if you know the what's what of the HDTV business, you'll know what a Panasonic plasma means. |

Yeah, I've seen them up close and personal in stores like best buy, and they are usually among the best in image quality (of course, this depends on how well the employees calibrate them). It's all business. That's why plasmas are outsold 10 to 1 but LCDs even though they are far superior in PQ and inch per dollar than LCDs. |

Anyway grats on the TV tomash, I absolutely love my 42" Panasonic [thumbup] And you're not wrong about stores, when I viewed mine in John Lewis I asked if I could have the remotes to it, it's 1080 brother and the LCD next to it. Unsurprisingly I found that the contrast and brightness on non-1080P one had been chopped down to about half of what the 1080p panel was set to, and the LCD was outputting some horrible dynamic contrast image which made the colours bleed - but I suppose it made it look 'bright' and 'vivid' in comparison. Anyway, when I calibrated as best I could standing there the Panasonic's were simply gorgeous ![]() |

The point is the perceived quality of the TV is going to be limited by the camera and method he used to take the pictures. i.e. if I took a picture of a Pioneer Kuro elite one handed with my iPhone somehow I doubt that its' true quality could be appreciated. |
