I just sold this item on Ebay and I think I'm trying to get scammed.
The buyer has zero feedback. Due to this, Paypal is holding the money for 21 days. I will be unable to access the funds until this timeframe is up or the buyer has confirmed the product has been received and/or has left positive feedback for the transaction. Since this is a digital item, once it's been redeemed it can't be refunded or returned. I was going to originally e-mail the item to the buyer, but now I'm so suspicious of being ripped off. I don't know what to do. I'm thinking of hitting the send button on the following message to the buyer: Due to your zero feedback, Paypal is holding the money for 21 days, unless you take actions confirming that you have received the item. Unfortunately, this changes the rules on this auction. At this point you have two options: 1) Relinquish the funds to me from Paypal by confirming you have received the product and leaving positive feedback. 2) I ship the product to you via USPS with delivery signature and confirmation, thus protecting me from any claims that may state otherwise. My feedback speaks for itself and I assure you you will be getting a valid product, provided you follow one of the two above options. I will not provide the code until I have access to the money you have sent. Your zero feedback is too suspicious, considering that this is an item than cannot be returned once redeemed. I hope you understand, as there are far too many scammers on Ebay for me to have some doubt over the legitimacy of a zero feedback buyer whose Paypal transaction has been held for 21 days. Any advice on what should I do? |

Sounds ok to me. Better safe than sorry. If they're not a scammer, hopefully they'll be understanding.

This is strange. My roommate sold a mobo a few weeks ago and HE has only 5 feedback's...When the buyer paid, Paypal held the money until the buyer confirmed he received the item. But now it seems Ebay just holds ALL money when someone has low or zero feedback. [dots]
There has to be a way that you can contact Ebay about this. Ebay claims they support the buyer heavily, but as a seller, you're the buyer of Ebay's product, so shouldn't you be protected to some degree as well?? ![]() |
