Default The most epically awesome burnout fail ever.
This is even better than the F-body burnout when the guy's clutch scattered.

Scattered his flywheel. Thats what destroys the hood. Flywheels typically weigh about 15 to 20lbs. 15 to 20lbs spinning at 4,000-6,000rpm will make quite a big dent in anything.

In drag racing heavily modified cars are required to have scatter shield blankets to catch the pieces and prevent the flywheel chunks from tearing your legs off as they blow through the cabin.

Was he just bored of his crashed Neon and destroyed the engine too, just for fun?

Could do that too.

This is why scatter shields are important.

iPod = no Flash. Was on iPod when posted.

Anyways, that is totally funny. Not only that, he freakin' put it online too! lol. Try explaining that to insurance!

Seems like that guy was nutty to begin with. Poo rims up front, broken window, I bet that was just a standard Neon riced up.

That's a great clip - looks like he was using the footbrake, rather than mostly the handbrake and the tyres weren't even braking loose - all clutch!

Still prefer the yellow 'Vette one when he burned out the clutch, thinking it was wheelspin!
