Awesome storyline. I really hope they make a sequel. The only thing I didn't like was the shaky cam footage during the first half-hour. It made me literally sick. There were times where I had to look away because I thought I was going to puke. Once those shots were done though, I was fine.

Great movie, go see it if you can (and like sci-fi).

Saw it last night and I really enjoyed it. The first half of the movie was alright, there were a few too many scenes with fingernails and teeth and skin pulling that I just didn't need to see, but the last half of the movie was astounding.

The movie makes no apologies for what happens to the main character, and I'm glad for it.

Definitely my favorite movie this year.

I enjoyed the movie, although I don't think it's as good as people have been making it out to be. Would still recommend seeing it, and I will probably watch it again sometime.

Going to see it in about an hour at the barracks !!!
Nothing better than seeing a flick 2 months earlier for just a few dollars
Double win + it´s in English (i honestly can´t stand German dubbing anymore), so that´s like a triple win win situation,..
Heck they even have those coke machines with Dr Pepper and A&W Rootbeer (which is almost unobtainable around here, and if for about ~ 3 US $ a can!!) just for like 2 quarters or something and if i´m lucky my bud will do some shopping for me in the PX afterwards (Microwave Burrito´s !!!!)
Man, the win in this is just off the roof tbfh.

Now let´s just hope the movie lives up to my expectations,..
Will report back later.

3.5/4 from me. What makes it so good is that it is so unexpectedly awesome, with no real hype surrounding it. The acting was first rate and Sharlto Copley is a star in the making. Despite borrowing elements from other films (mainly the Fly and Starship Troopers)
And Alien Nation? Maybe? Perhaps? Just a tiny little bit?

aren't you an army brat or sumsuch? Can't you get on base without a friend who is in the military. If you aren't i just always assumed wrong then, cause that is about the only explanation i can muster that ties you to Texas & Germany

So is this film some kind of Apartheid allegory? Because that's what it looks like from the trailer.

more like an alien version of what happened to the japanese during WWII, with futuristic weapons and a tiny alien sidekick. Sorta, at least...but really nothing about that.

That's what I got from the trailer as well. But then I'm hearing it's an action-laden gorefest... I still haven't decided if I want to see this with my lil sis.

(possible spoiler, but probably not)

I will give you a southpark episode that is in many ways similar. Think of the episode where Cartman was really giving the Gingers a hard time, possibly even trying to round them up onto an interment camp (cannot really remember) only to have the tables turned on him by stan and kyle, to where he woke up one morning believing he himself was a ginger. This movie is similar, except there are futuristic alien weapons, tiny alien sidekicks and crazy ass nigerians practicing witchcraft.
