Default Astondb5 RIP. You will be sorely missed.
It saddens me to inform you that an old school member of FM and SYB/CUM passed away last month. We received this post from his wife today....

Hi,

this is Meike (Meks), Aston's wife.
Well, no, I am not his wife anymore, but his widow.

I know Steve loved to come here and talk to you all, and therefore I think it is only fair that you should know what happened.

Steve died on Nov. 5th.
It happened totally out of the blue, he had not been ill or anything.
Only a few days earlier, he had turned 41.
On the morning of the 5th, when I went to work and we hugged and said good-bye, everything was perfectly alright.
We exchanged a few emails during the morning, and his last email was from 13.46, telling me that he was going to have a nap (like he often did when he was not working in the afternoon).

When I came home shortly before 6.00, I found him dead on the floor in our living room.

The doctor who had to issue the documents said that it must have happened so quickly he never knew what was coming. He didn't even have time to feel pain or fear, his heart simply stopped.
That is a bit of comfort to me, knowing that he did not suffer, had no long illness, no tubes sticking in his body and so on.
But this would have still had time in 30 or 40 years...

Anyway.
Now you know why Aston is not posting anymore.

- Meike (Meks).

I didnt know that guy, but this makes me really sad. Strange how sometimes the heart of a person just stops without a warning.

RIP Astondb5. My feelings are with his widow and family.

Dangit, little more than a kid!
We had some good discussions about his moniker, back in the day, and he was a good bloke!

Commiserations to his lady!

Man, that just sucks. My condolences to his family. I usually liked his posts and thought of him as a friend.

****! NO! NO! NO!

He was such a fun loving guy. Awesome sense of humor. He was a large chunk of the character at Speak Your Brains when I used to frequent it. (before it collapsed)

My heart and condolences go out to his family, wife, and friends, as well as to the folks at SYB/C.U.M. I know he was dearly important to you all.

Thank you for letting us know James.

Please let me know if there are is a fund setup to help his family in any way.

We are all contributing a little over at C.U.M to help his wife out through paypal. Unfortunately Steve didn't have any savings or insurance and was working as a part time English Teacher. If you would like her paypal then PM me.

Know the name but not the person.

Still makes you realise how fragile we all are

That is sad, I always thought he was a cool guy. At least it sounds like he went out pleasantly, but man way to young.

Yeah...

Wow,another one, didn't really talk to him myself but it's still sad to see a long time forum member go.

Makes me wonder about the other people who haven't posted in a while.
