Well thats his tough luck isnt it. I dont care what way you put it, its still the wrong advice and his punishment, no? There is a bus near a supermarket that takes me to the station. So I will drive to the supermarket. I would have to be super unlucky to get caught driving there as it's a 2 minute drive. ![]() Also is the camera new? Sounds like you drive on the highway quite a bit so surely you must have known. And there are normally super sized signs (usually around 2-3 of them) telling you at least 1km in advanced that there is a camera up ahead making it nearly impossible to miss unless you weren't paying attention in which you become a danger to everyone around you. |

2 minute drive equals about a 30 minute walk which is recommended that everyone does at least once per day. I'd suggest you get exercising Secondly, I thought I knew where all the cameras were, I have never seen this one, and I've driven on the freeway many times. Even my house mate thinks there is only the 1 camera. The first thing I asked him when I moved here is where are all the cameras. So yes I do feel a bit silly getting busted by a camera I have driven past on many occasions and I still have not seen it. The only way I thought I'd get busted is by a cop in a car. With that said, I don't speed all the time so I'm not a constant lead foot hoon otherwise I would have got busted already, there really isn't much point speeding, when doing 100 will get you in/out of the city in 15 minutes. |

Well firstly I work out at a gym 5 days a week if I can. So no need for the extra exercise. Also the road is like a country road, no foot paths and it's about 30 minute walk like you said. I just don't have that sort of time to add to my travels. Adding a bus will make things long enough. The only way I'm going to get busted is if I'm highly unlucky and the cop is a complete tool. I'd mostly be complying with the law by getting myself mostly off the road. Don't try and justify it. There is no "mostly" complying with the law. You either comply, or you break it. Walk the 30 minutes and accept the longer commute as part of your punishment. Be a man, in other words. |

I had a driving ban before I had my license...(some of you will probably remember it as I posted it here when it happened), I received for charges and a £450 fine or something like that (a lot at the time as I was only about 18). I have since learned my lesson...it's not worth it for safety reasons, financially...or for convenience, just drive safely from now on and accept you made a mistake....[thumbup]

Yeah well, I broke it to mum, she took the news better than I thought. While on the phone I just realised the suspension doesn't take effect until Dec 31st! [thumbup] [rofl] But do please, check where you can fight this decission. It may be possible ( at least in Dutch law) to fight back, when work/life is on the issue on this. Maybe the circumstances you have had to drive faster and at least be honest about it, may reduce your sentence ( your time of being suspended) Just don't try to outsmart it or dude, your life could go take a wrong turn real bad and real quick if you still decide to take a spin while you are prohibited. |

Even after all this she was still forced to pay the fine plus costs to prove her innocents. When it comes to road rules Australia likes to @ss rape everyone. Makes me wonder why they even have sirens on cop cars. They should instead have a loud speaker which says "SURPRISE, butt sex". |

Most of my 20's was a stupid, drunk, tail chasing blur. I had 2 OWIs. The first one I totaled a car when I lost it in the snow, hit a phone poll and a brick building. I was literally about 5 blocks from home. Blew a .190. 2nd, I was leaving a strip club and was driving down the wrong side of the road. Blew a .202. Then theres all the other times drunk or speeding or both that I didn't get killed or caught but should have.
Lost the license for 6 moths on the first, and one year on the 2nd, never drove one day during either suspension. On the 2nd I had just started dating a gal that thankfully did not share my same habits. She stuck through it with me because I was upfront and honest with her about it, and I decided it was time to hang that crap up and follow the rules. We've been married now 7 years and have 2 boys. Yeah, it sucked having to get rides or walking places. But I sucked it up and did it and tried to make a good change in my life. Follow the rules man. its only 6 months out of your young life. |

Well I got a notice in the post today that I have a speeding fine and 6 months suspension of my licence. This is the penalty for going 43km over the limit (100km limit). Wow, and all the abrasiveness about how you were speeding from other members. You guys should never come to the US and drive... 90 in a 60 (roughly equivelant) is seen all the time over here, though at least in Texas, we don't have a point system where you will actually just reach that limit and then lose your liscense. Instead, we have a system where when you reach 6 points, you then have to start paying surcharges or then you will lose your liscense. They are not really that much, $100 for the 7th point and $25 for each point thereafter, plus other ticket related fees. |

Well I had a look at the penalty and it's 6 demerit points. It doesn't mean that the licence is suspended if you have enough points. It's just suspended because they have identified me as the driver.
I'll pay the fine and even give somene extra $ to put their name down for me and pay the fine. I just need someone that loves me enough to take the points for me. ![]() |
