Default Ballet: The Nutcracker, you been to see it?
So I got tickets to see the Nutcracker on December 12th. Sitting in the mezzanine at Bass Hall in Ft. Worth, Texas. It cost me a few bucks, but I think it's going to be cool and I've always liked the music.

Anyone ever seen it? I think I've seen a movie, but not the real thing. Seems like a great Christmas thing to go do with my girl.

Funny you should be watching them - personally, I watch the young women is skimpy outfits!
CG, been a long time ago with a GF that wanted to go - I think I enjoyed it more than her as I like the music - and the above - but I think she may have been following OHP's example. Not much sleep that night when we returned to the hotel so it was even better!

When i was a wee little lad (9-10) i was in it. It was pretty cool. It was with the Dallas Ballet and they did like 2 weeks of shows at Music Hall in fair Park. I got to miss so much school, and all just to be background for 4-5 min twice a day. The rest of the time i was just in the back looking at all the pretty girls change

I didn't go but my sister actually danced in it when the Russian Ballet came over a couple of years ago.

I don´t know what you are trying to say by that, but being happy that "The Nutcracker" is being performed by "REAL Russians" is in my book just about as enjoyable as knowing the guy trying to wash my wind shield at the red light is a "REAL crack N*gga"

I do it every Christmas as a tradition, something I started a few years ago. It's amazing. I'm assuming you're seeing the Moscow Ballet travelling show? I'll be seeing them here in Baltimore in a few weeks.

Ha funny, I just ordered tickets for me and my girl to go on Dec 12th but in Atlanta at the Fox Theater.
I've seen it in the Fox in Atlanta several years in a row. My only gripe about that show is that there is no live symphony. Last year was rough, because I was sitting to the left of the speaker that projected the sound down from the overhang above me, and the sound was consistently in my right ear the whole time...

Also, they try to "modernize" it a bit by changing the girl's name, and having parts of the ballet feature modern dance moves and what not. It's not bad, but I do appreciate seeing the original artwork unmodified.

Yes I have seen it before at the Fox and that is kind of annoying. I try to get tickets in the Orchestra center section to stay away from any speakers. This year though when at Ticketmaster when I was ordering the tickets it said there was a live orchestra? So I am hoping its not a generic message.
