If you'd watched the video you would have had all those questions answered....

To scroll just move your finger around the top of the mouse to go in any direction. Left click just click the top left where the button normally would be, same for right click. To go back / forward just slide two fingers left or right across the top of the mouse.

What have you ever used a middle mouse button for? And I'm not taking the mickey, I'm genuinely curious as I use computers all day, every day and I have never found any use for a middle button.
I play these crazy, uncommon things called video games. They require lots of buttons including the middle mouse button.

Anyways, I never scroll left or right either because if I have to then I'm just closing the web page. Also, my mouse wheel doesn't require to move any but my finger instead of sensually dragging my hand down the mouse.

Point is on the previous mouse thing they have the right click works like dog crap on it. I'll stick to my Lachesis

Seems pointless...Where are my buttons to browse forward and backward? Middle Mouse Button?

And if it's anything like that other mouse (mighty mouse)? The right clicking works like **** half the time. I'll take separate buttons.
What are you talking about? This is obviously another engineering marvel that could only be brought to us from the geniuses at apple. Not only will this change how we use a mouse, but on the brighter side, the engineers have actually developed a brand new Apple sticker that is far cooler than all the other Apple stickers people have on the back window of their cars. The combination of new mouse + new sticker will usher in a whole new sense of cool one will feel at their local coffee shop sitting at a table alone looking really hip while they browse the web.

on a side note, i messed around with one at fry's a few days back, and was not impressed.

Can I just make it perfectly clear that I am aware it is on the whole a gimmick, but I like it It's a novel innovation for a mouse, even if it's nothing completely particularly innovative overall.

Zedoo - I imagine it will be a love or hate device but I didn't like it for the first hour or so but then it made a lot more sense after that. The iPhone was the same for me as well.

it's not the worst thing i have ever used or anything, but for $70 i couldn't imagine getting it, since imo, it would be near impossible to game with. If all you do is surf the net or work with photoshop it might be worth the effort to adjust to, but to me at least, i just don't see any real benefit to it. At the end of the day though, it is just a mouse, and though I poked a bit of fun at it, it was more me just taking advantage of the opening presented, than really caring much one way or another.

I have to be honest, if it was my money then I wouldn't buy it. But it isn't so I love it.

Mac products are so sleek and simplistic in design, it's like having a woman without a vagina. May look good on the exterior but you strip it down and you find yourself short-changed.

I can't think of anything much worse than using this mouse, only part that appealed to me was the side scrolling.

honestly, the first time i saw the video or learned news of the magic mouse..i thought it was a joke. the shape looks highly unconfortable, the "OMGWTFNEWFEATURES" are actually really old features, but instead you need to really go out of your way to execute and feels and looks like a huge step backwards

2 finger swiping < click the scrollbar
"scrolling" motion < mouse scroll
360degree scrolling < click the middle mouse button and move around the mouse

It's a computer mouse. It's designed to point and click. It does both excellently.

Try using something before moaning about it....

It's actually really comfortable to use, and I'd have no problem saying it wasn't if I thought that. I think some PC products are better than Apple ones and vice versa.

i have.. my boss at work brought one to the office some days ago (wanted us lowly employees to drool about his new mouse) and although i would have to agree that technologically it is advanced, in terms of usability, its a step backward (IMO )

I'd say it is a step sideways. In some ways I prefer it to a normal mouse, but in others I wish for a normal mouse. The thing I like most is how it feels to hold and look at.

Pointless, useless, impracticable, gimmicky, expensive, and style oriented Apple product # 245.
Perfect for the Grande Soy no foam double shot vanilla starbucks latte drinker, girl who colors her hair orange and has rainbow colored socks and knits her own sweaters, small penis guys, and the art student who can not afford a car but can afford a macbook air... Oh and flamboyant homosexuals/metrosexuals that feel like they have something to prove by owning a macbook air.
Was that offensive? Well why don't you walk into a starbucks and see for yourself... I guarantee you will at least 2 people matching the descriptions I mentioned that will have a mac product on their table next to their soy latte.
I have no problem with OS X... It's the hardware and the users. It's kind of like how I stay away from religious people but Muslims/Islam gets on my nerves the most.

The thing is, you're worse than them for having an opinion on something you have obviously never tried. I hate such closed-mindedness.

Pointless - it's not, it's a computer mouse.
useless - it controls your cursor admirably
impracticable - it's uncannily comfortable,
gimmicky - because a razor boomerang 9453453534 is purely about being a mouse
expensive - about the same as any other high end mouse
style oriented - it's also ergonomically orientated

Come back after school, I look forward to your response [yes]

you see this mouse?
http://www.fentek-ind.com/mvmlbb.htm
My grandfather uses it and it is the best mouse I have ever used. I have one as well... But it looks goofy and stupid so it will never sell like that stylish apple mouse. Tell me... How is replacing buttons with a touch sensitive surface going forward? It still has the same problem of a regular mouse... Strain on the wrist... The evoluent mouse actually HELPS your wrist. Apples new mouse is same **** different look.

And my statement about people who use apple products.. Is totally exaggerated and prejudice... I know of many Mac users that use parallel and run winxp... don't really use the mac portion of it. Those people are even dumber.
