Buy. Two. Seats.

Should be compulsory IMO.

Holy crap not only is that guy massively obese, he's also ridiculously tall. Looks like he wouldn't even fit in a single seat if he wasn't fat. Poor dude next to him.

if he cannot wear his seat belt for take offs and landings he will not be allowed to fly

Looks like he is perched on the armrest, so I'm guessing the seatbelt would be largely redundant.

also I'd be concerned for passenger egress safety if they ever have to exit the Aircraft...

do you think he could make it down the narrow walkway in the pitch black, also do you think he'd be able to wear the life preserver under the seat ?

It looks like he can make it from the couch to the fridge just fine, but probably not a lot more than that.

I'm surprised they did not park him in the isle to balance the weight distribution of the aircraft.

Had a similar scenario flying back from the Cook Islands a few years back. Massive Samoan chap in the seat next to me. Spent the whole flight squished up against the window. Plus he stank. Not a fun flight.

Was private travel not business. Not got the money to upgrade out of my own pocket - the prices airlines charge for anything other than economy seats is nuts.

hmm i think there should be 3-4 rows of double sized seats on planes,
i mean sure they should be a bit more expensive, but man that´s just messed up sitting a big guy like that on a single standard seat.

neotheMit 11-26-2009 05:34 AM

There are two empty seats behind him, you sure this is not a fake?

I reckon people would just use him as the life preserver.

"This is your captain speaking, we're going to experience a slight delay while our ground crew adds a larger turbo to the engine on the right wing..."

There should be special seating for extra large folk in at least two spots on an aircraft, and if there are no large folk on that particular flight then the seats can easily be converted to a normal seat. Problem solved!

squicscor 11-26-2009 07:07 AM

Heh, I remember hearing about airlines charging for 2 seats for fat people, but refunding the second if the plane didn't fill up.

Makes sense to me. If you need 2 seats then you should have to pay for 2 seats.

Poeetiol 11-26-2009 07:10 AM

Perhaps he's claiming that his ass is "carry-on" luggage? http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo.../confused1.gif

Is this picture even real or is this photoshop magic?

Haha! If that had happened I would go ROFL!

That should be common sense and I agree.
