Not sure what is the right section to put this but any help would be useful.
I've finally got internet set up in my flat though o2. So far its been absolutely fine connecting first my computer and then my laptop using the router they supplied, just plugged it in, both computers detected the router, put in the passphrase and was away. However, my flatmate is now trying to connect her laptop as well and we are running into a few problems. Basically, it detects the router, connects fine, but sees it as an "Unidentified Network" she can connect to my computer and see all my shared files and I can do the same to hers but it just won't make the final link to the internet. We've tried all sorts of things, reset the connection, disabled and re-enabled the wireless adaptor and used the o2 install CD but nothing is working. Briefly it was working when connected over Ethernet directly to the router but that no longer works either. When using the o2 setup disc it initially was saying there was a problem with the adaptor (which there can't be as it connects fine to the router and works with general network useage) now it just says can't detect the modem. It also sometimes mentions that it can only connect with "limited connectivity" Its a HP Turion based laptop, running Vista with Kaspersky 2010. I've tried with it totally disabled and re-enabling windows firewall but still no luck. The laptop is also running in German so I'm finding myself getting a little lost in the menus sometimes ![]() Any ideas what to try next? |

In the absence of someone coming up with the exact solution to your problem, Google really is your friend here.

Thanks for the reply, I'd already spent about an hour trying different things from google after I couldn't sort it myself and still had not come up with anything - hence asking here.
Either way, it seems to be fixed now, absolutely no idea what happened, left it for 20 mins while doing other things and then went back and disabled and enabled the wireless adaptor again (had already done that about 4 times before) and it just started working with no problems like it did on my computer & laptop *Shrug* Just computers being computers I guess ![]() |
