More to the point, why would you want to look at pictures of a stillborn baby on a regular basis?

To be honest they did have a back up, but it was on another laptop, also stolen.

I am not trying to cheapen what they have/are going through but it doesn't seem to be the healthiest thing to do really.

How is it odd? It's their child. Stillborn or not. If it was perfectly healthy and died in it's infancy i'm sure they'd want pictures. This isn't really much different. Probably not healthy to be looking every day though.

So by your logic parents should delete all pictures of any children they have who might die at the age of 5, 8, 19.....?

A stillborn baby is still a baby. Their baby. Their child.

How do you know that? On the TV news just now they stated that the pictures on their laptop were the "only copies".

More like "When will aresholes stop breaking into peoples houses and stealing ****."
It's always wise to keep backups. Anything could happen to the original copies. HDDs have a tendency to fail.

Would you keep pictures of the corpse of your dead child to look at every day?

Do you store them off-site? Otherwise, they're pretty useless if they're stolen too, burnt up in a fire, etc...
