I am not trying to cheapen what they have/are going through but it doesn't seem to be the healthiest thing to do really.

How is it odd? It's their child. Stillborn or not. If it was perfectly healthy and died in it's infancy i'm sure they'd want pictures. This isn't really much different. Probably not healthy to be looking every day though.

So by your logic parents should delete all pictures of any children they have who might die at the age of 5, 8, 19.....?

How do you know that? On the TV news just now they stated that the pictures on their laptop were the "only copies".

It's always wise to keep backups. Anything could happen to the original copies. HDDs have a tendency to fail.
Would you keep pictures of the corpse of your dead child to look at every day?

I do have backups as a matter of fact.
