That's two comments in one thread about Americans. And since the title is entitled "Japan's", the first one was rather uncalled for.

You seem to have a big issue against Americans don't you.
FFS... you guys need to be not so sensitive. The first comment I gave a thumbs up, I wasn't American bashing. America and hamburgers go hand in hand. I've been there and man I ate a lot of burger when I was there.

Second one, the typical trend for burger upgrades seems to be adding bacon, cheese or meat patties.

Gee you can't say anything about America anymore without one of you guys being super sensitive to America bashers.

You're fat, Australian, and you admit to having problems getting laid. What's your point? The ****ing title says Japan, drink another one. America blows from time to time, and I live here, but there is no reason to use this country to turn the attention from your increasing level of suck.
I'm 72kg FYI...

and once again, I wasn't even America bashing. I was simply pointing out what a cool American way to promote a product.. But no, some of you here just freaking can't take a minute to cool down and realise that not everyone that types a sentence with "America" in it is out to bash American's.

So go sob somewhere else precious!

Jesus, it's not a confusing statement. Lenny is generally a nice guy, but what I said is true... and he is not from the US. His pissing on my country is offensive. Look back through my posts, if you find anything that is against your homeland, let me have it. The anti US **** becomes exhausting after a while.
Man you have no f*cking clue what itŽs like to be German,
The majority of people out there still hold me day for day responsible for the holocaust.
I donŽt think a day has passed on the net when i visit some site/server/chat and have to listen to some "Heil Hitler" or "F*ck you Nazi" bullcrap. [thumbdown]

If that was your intent, then I apologize.

But you made a post commenting on how American it was to make an oversized hamburger on a board which has had problems in the past with American bashing. Which re-inforces the use of the stereotype of America's obesity problem through fast food over-eating.

And since that hamburger in question came from Japan, there was no reason for you to have even mentioned America in the first place, good intentioned or not.

It's not what you say, but how you say it. And your comment could be very easily seen as bashing.

Lets get some things staight. By saying how American, I'm not pointing out the burgers size and America's obesity issue, I'm talking about creating a new burger to launch a product. The japanese culture wouldn't normally do something like that. It's an American product (windows 7) being promoted by an American food icon. It's not a Japaniese way of doing things, it's American! Why be ashamed of hamburgers? mmm nom nom nom.

The problem with you yanks currently on this board, is you're like a kid in the playground that gets teased all the time (which is unfair). Then someone approaches you to make friends and you quickly snap at them and be mean. The thing is, that person was actually coming over to try and make friends! You're insecure and already juding before you take a second to find out what the person means.

You got to stop reading things with an anti American frame of mind. If you looked at a lot of my posts, you will find most of them I'm showing support.

No it's exactly what the japanese would do. Seems like you know nothing about japan and a lot about american stereotypes. Just google japan [food item]. Here's japan pizza...

Sigh... that's just a crazy pizza. I get the idea that Japanese like crazy things and American companies try to play to that. But what I'm saying is that we've seen something like the big crazy burgers in the US before, so really the mega multi layers of beef in a burger is mostly American thing so far. Not really something the Japanese are known for.

So yes the windows 7 promoton plays to the quirky Japanese audiance, but at it's heart it's American food, American food company and an American software product, but presented in a slightly quirky but still American way.

It's not like MS teamed up with a japanese branded sushi store or something and made the Windows 7 seas of crazy fish. Which would pretty much have no association with American food or lifestyle.

I can get a burger with lots of meat anywhere- not an exclusive of america nor is this the fist time japan has had a large burger. Burger's are so popular in japan that even burger king itself has a piss poor market share there (crushed by the native Mos Burger). To say that burgers (or big burgers) aren't japanese is ludicrous. Yes the hamburger originated in america- beyond that nothing.

And your problem is that you don't realize that what you might say, regardless as to what you mean to say, might be regarded as insulting. So instead of saying sorry, you immediately shift the blame to us poor ole Americans who can't seem to read and understand what we see.

Don't pawn this off like you have a little angel halo over your head. You wrote something that could be taken as insulting, even if you didn't mean to.

Look, I have done the same at work on occasion. Granted my female coworkers seem to have a dirtier mind then me sometimes, there has been an instance or two where I have said something that just crosses the line and offends one of them. If they tell me, I apologize, I don't go blaming them for being too uptight or being insecure. Because it was my mistake.

You are german, therefore you are germany, therefore anything germany did wrong in the past is your fault. Just like I'm responsible for killing off most of the buffalo, slaughtering natives, and enslaving the blacks and chinese.

I'm not going to apologise for someones negative frame of mind. Especially when I didn't say anything bad then In return I was told I'm fat etc, which was fully intended to humiliate me.

I've already told you exactly what I've meant. We have no need to argue any further. I've moved on with the thread, yet you still want to take shots at me. Get over it.

Just realised you can have custom burgers made at McDonalds,

The Pounder meal I was referring to is simply a double quarter pounder with two extra beef patties and cheese. But I can add as many beef patties as I want. But it costs an extra $1.50 per beef patty and $0.50 per extra cheese.

I guess Australia isn't much different at all. Only we don't publicly make the option available like other countries, you have to go in there and ask.

Lenny, you know better. Your view of the world seems to be based on stereotypes, Japan = fish, the US = greasy, fat burgers. I was not really personally offended, but it you want to talk about playground politics... you are the little kid that runs up and hits another kid, then acts like the victim when they return the favor. I know bashing the US is practically a sport in some circles, but you really have no idea what's going on here. I don't care if you have visited this country either.

Yup! I do that too... sometimes. lol.

US = greasy, fat burgers See DKM, once again you're thinking that the hamburger is a symbol of something bad/negative. I don't see it that way. It's not much different than a regular healthy sandwich if you put good stuff in. There are plenty of burger places here promoting burgers as healthy. Which they pretty much are if you don't have fries and soda with them. I'm not trying to say McDonalds is healthy, but I wasn't taking pot shots either at the US. Sorry if you feel ashamed the outside perspective of the US is to be associated with fast food and and fatty burgers, but honestly you shouldn't care and if others don't like it then they can sod off.
