I have a story on FB gettn hacked.

Not too long ago I made friends with a girl and we ended up chatting thru FB. My GF got a wind of it and she asked her girlfriends husband to hack into the girl's account because she didnt trust me enuff and didnt believe me when I told her it was all innocent. Well this guy somehow hacked into her account read all her outgoing mail and sent my GF a copy...

She ended up looking like a fool because there werent any sexual/flirty emails between us but my stupid gf made me delete her off my FB anyways....god I hate women![rolleyes]

could you tell me what the name of the extension is please...?[thumbup]
She must have been one heck of a girl in the sack - only reason I can think of for not kicking her out ASAP. Hey, you could probably make a good case to sue her, the friend and the friends husband as they were certainly acting illegally and would have been facing some years in prison - seriously!
Not to mention the trust issues!

Just to mention... I've never logged into FB with my phone.

I'm still stunned as to how my password was figured out, its not dictionary hackable, its a complex password with lowecase/uppercase/symbols and 10 characters.

If there are spyware or viruses on your computer your password was keylogged.

If you have very simple password, say one short word without numbers that has relevance to your username, then that will be easy to crack.

I'm not sure how else a hacker would have been able to breach your account, maybe your house was unlocked, someone strolled in, opened your browser to find your Facebook home page still logged in, etc?

I have scanned the 2 PC's I use in my life, with Windows Defender, Sophos Anti-virus, Trend Housecall and Spybot search and destroy. The only things that were found were tracking cookies by spybot for a few shitty websites.

As I said, my password was not easy to crack.

Nobody has been in my house, although that also went through my mind, I walked into my house on the first day I found out, with the adrenaline pumping as it was the ONLY explanation that actually made sense...

As an update to all of this, Facebook emailed me... check this out:

Hi,

Your account has been temporarily disabled while we investigate this security issue. Our systems indicate that your Facebook account has been compromised by cybercriminals attempting to impersonate you. These criminals often will try to trick your friends into sending them money by claiming that you are stuck in a far away location and need assistance. (this is me=wales, mugged at gunpoint, no wallet, far away, help)

It is possible that your email account was compromised as well, as obtaining access to a victim's email is one of the primary ways these cybercriminals have been operating. Please select new, unique passwords for any email addresses associated with your Facebook account.

We will write back to you after we have investigated this issue. In the meantime, we encourage you to visit the following page for more information about Facebook security and how to report suspicious material: http://www.facebook.com/security. We hope to resolve this as quickly as possible and appreciate your patience.
Thanks for contacting Facebook,

Amanda

(me again) I CANNOT find any evidence of any access to my email account (secured with a different/stronger password, than shitty facebook). I have emailed google to give me a full breakdown of recent access to my email account, and whether anything other than the 2 IP addresses I know it is accessed from.

if that were me she would have instantly got her p45. you sound like a weak man, there is no way you should have deleted anyone from your contacts.
