I love how once people learned the woman wasn't going to pay they all took it upon themselves to shoplift because they were now somehow entitled to free stuff. People suck.

That's exactly what I was thinking. The logic of "because a random person said I could get free stuff I'm going to steal from the business owner who took no part in the scam" makes me want to grab all these people, put them on a ship, and dump them in the middle of the ocean.

... or were they? *tin foil hat*

But yeah it's crazy how people still think they are entitled free stuff. Though I can see some people might have thought it was a ploy at the time to get people into the store.

Exactly. The fact some stranger offered to pay for something which in the end didn't happen does not warrant you taking it by force anyway... idiots[thumbdown]

And yet you think it is "hilarious" for some idiot to intentionally soak kids at a bus stop and "see nothing wrong" with it. Maybe some of those kids are ready to dump you and that driver in the middle of the ocean too?

And even though it was fake, people still felt they deserved their items and stole it all anyway. Anyone taking jabs at their ethnic background? Racial profiling and stereotypes are so wrong. You should not answer that.

Theres a difference between rioting, running down a store and costing the business owner thousands in stolen goods and splashing a puddle onto some kids.

Not really. In either case the stores owners (or the kids parents) are going to be quite upset. Unless you believe that monetary damage automatically trumps emotional damage.

Its rude, inconsiderate and selfish in both instances.

Really don't get it, do you?
With your logic it is acceptable for a stranger to punch you in the face, as that doesn't cause property damage - well perhaps it'll require clothing to be washed and dried but that doesn't matter either?

Someone punching me in the face is worse than someone splashing a puddle into me.

Riots + shopliftin in a store = alot of mess, alot of money lost, and alot of work to put everything right.

Punch in the face = alot of pain.

Puddle splash = discomfort.

YOU don't get it.

Because the kids were retarded? Derp derp derp I bet if I stand next to a puddle on a road and a car drives through it nothing will happen. Notice the smart guy not standing next to the puddle in the video? I applaud that person, because he/she showed that not everyone is an idiot. Had the kids at the bus stop exercised the least bit of common sense and NOT stood next to the puddle they wouldn't have been soaked.

Had the driver of the car swerved up onto the sidewalk and run them over you'd have a valid point, but he kept on the road, exactly where he belongs, doing what you do on roads... which is driving. Roads are meant to be driven on. I wouldn't say that stores are built for the purpose of being robbed.

The primary reason I find it hilarious is that it's funny (to me at least) when things happen to idiots that could have been completely avoided had the person not been an idiot. If someone tries to light a fart on fire and singes their butthole I'm going to laugh at them. Likewise if someone stands next to a puddle and gets splashed I'm going to laugh at them as well.

Doesn't fly. The responsibility is on the driver to watch out for such things, most especially when that person is putatively an adult and the others involved are children.

Yes cars belong on the road, but its also true that pedestrians mostly belong on the sidewalk. As a matter of law, the person in the vehicle has the higher responsibility in any conflict.

As a driver, I know that my car splashes in puddles and I slow appropriately when approaching places where those splashes can intersect pedestrians. Its common courtesy and its also common sense. Neglecting to so means that the driver is either careless or pernicious, neither of which are admirable traits.

In fact, as far as the maturity and decency shown its nearly as careless and pernicious as this woman's act.

Other thread locked before I was able to comment that it was likely that the kids would have had to stay in those soaking clothes all day with the good chance of hypothermia, a cold, flu or pnuemonia - people still die of the last two.
The other point is that a bus may not stop for those who are not actually at the stop so they basically may have had to be there.

Maybe next time they'll have some rocks to throw at the car, as someone in the other thread used to do.
