How good is your eyesight??

Since I can remember Ive seen the world with a great vision, colors are bright, street signs are crisp and even the moon looks incredible to me. I went to the eye doc not to long ago because I noticed a slight blur in my right eye while driving at night.. (the ghost effect of street lights)

After I went to the doc and did all the tests he said....ur sight is 20/20. And explained the dominate eye effect. Even to this day I still see everything like I did when I was 6. Altho when I do close my left eye and let my right eye see the world I see a slight blur, but when I open my left eye it all becomes perfect again!!

Im 33 and have excellent eyesight from what I tell. My siblings all have horrible vision, I dont get it but I thank God.

Whats your eyesight like, and please mention your age

I'm 29. My left eye is fast becoming a dead duck, but my right eye is tickety boo.

Usesdiums 09-26-2009 02:55 PM

The last time I had my vision checked (December 2008) the doctor said I had 20/20 in my right eye, and 20/10 in my left eye. I was really hungover at the time from what I remember, so it may be better or worse now.

Still just 19 but perfect eyesight, only sense I am actually sure I have "full" of, hehe.

About seeing things bright, I have that too and it's bugging everyone I know out..like keeping my room dark and such, people don't like it but I love it.

I used to have 20-15 vision when I was 15/16, but I feel it's kind of slipping now.

Same here. Progressive cornea thinning. I had an operation (INTACS) three or four years ago. 45 mins per eye. Prolly the longest 90 minutes of my life.

You know you are getting old when you benchmark each others eyesight http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/tongue1.gif

I have 20/15 in my right eye and 20/18 in my left eye. I do get headaches once in a while but even at 45 my eyesight is still better than most. It served me well in the Army, I was in a LRSD unit(Long Range Sniper Det.). I will say though that my hearing is ****.

I've been using EyeMark Vantage for some time now. Got an extra 104 points last after overclocking my retina.

Is it painful or something?

As for my eyes, I've never had them properly checked but I can say my night time eyesight completely sucks. Anything that is in dark shadow or black or really dark colour I can barely see or not see at all and is usually really blurry.

My day time eyesight or when the light is on or bright objects I can see very clearly. Although I have noticed my long site vision is starting to go away, words are becoming increasingly difficult to read long distances as they are blurry.

Maybe it's cause I rub my eyes a lot?

Used to have perfect 20/20 vision until i was a freshman in highschool.. i noticed it first when i went to see a movie where subtitles were essential. I was seated at the back most row of the theater and i found myself squinting more and more. After that, my eyesight went downhill steadily..

now i have 300/300 (with stigmatism on my left eye), being a graphic artist/webdesigner that has to stare at computer screens atleast 9hrs a day doesnt help at all [no]

jamisi 09-26-2009 07:50 PM

100% blind. Can't see a damn thing. So what I'm typing is a complete mystery to me. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/tongue1.gif

j/k

My sight is far from perfect. Need specs for driving and watching telly and stuff. Thinking about laser eye surgery. [yes]

@Aerodyno@ 09-26-2009 08:11 PM

when i went to get my vision checked not long ago, apparently my visions perfect, but i can't see into the distance very well at all, its all blurry, and in some cases if i try to look at something erally far away i end up seeing double http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/laugh1.gif

-3 on both eyes. Which isn't that bad but still effectively makes them worthless for anything other than finding my way through the room. Never had glasses, but the day I got lenses was one of the most amazing days in my life. I was in awe at how beautiful the world was. Being able to see the individual grass, or the leaves on the trees. It was like I was always playing NES and suddenly got to play on playstation 3. ;)

Might get my eyes lasered in the near future.

hellenmoranov 09-27-2009 02:00 AM

fairly poor vision. -3.75 and -4. Can't read a license plate from 10 feet without some form of corrective vision. Worse at night, I have night blindness so I get halos on bright lights, blue lights bother me most of all. I can usually see a blue tinge around flourencents.

So all you HID people, guess what. I. HATE. YOU.

You blind me at night. I wouldn't risk driving at night without contacts or glasses, there is no way I could see a child, animal or other hazzard on the side of the road.

That is all.

Jjfotqse 09-27-2009 02:03 AM

so after reading this thread i went to investigate the fact that i see the halos around lights at night. many mixed answers but i would say my vision isnt much, if any worse then when i was a child. but i did find out when i was 11 that i was colorblind. pretty shitty heh

My vision is perfect since having Wavefront Intralase Lasik to correct my astigmatism. [thumbup]
