It's not. ![]() As for Jailbreaking, Apple may dislike you doing it to the extent that they will void your warranty if they can prove you've done it but there is no law that I know of on which they could charge you. Not even sure they could do anything if you unlocked the device as the product is yours. So long as you've paid for it through PaYG or a contract ... that's that. |

Whether that point was before doing the Jailbreak or when removing the Jailbreak, it kind of put me off as I dislike the idea of losing all my contacts / SMS's etc To the OP, it sounds like you are very new to the phone. Why not wait at least a couple days, see what is on the app store, familiarize yourself with the phone and actually use it just a bit before attempting to void your warranty? |

I think the general understanding is that jailbreaking the iPhone/iPod touch isn't technically illegal however downloading and installing the cracked apps is. |
