Now thats what Im talking about. Finally a restaurant with some balls. Parents just suck when it comes to respecting others and Im sick of it. A day after the other thread was posted here, I had a family in my office with 3 monsters and I couldnt even speak to the parents about the important things they needed to know for the screaming and running around and nearly emptying a 5 gallon jug of water from the dispenser on the floor.

I hate it when people do that here. We're a freaking call center. Or when people swear loudly. I've had to apologise to customers for both.

But props to the waitress. Tell it like it is.

And some crap service by the sounds of it. 20 minute wait to get service in a quiet restaurant and you'd hear me throwing a ****ing fit! In my favorite Mexican restaurant around here (and to be honest just about every one) You'd be seated served and have your food in less time than that.

I have a kid, and I still dont see what the big deal is, keep your kid under control or get out. Like I really believe the family that their child wasnt being loud either, parents never think their kid is as bad as they really are.

So you'd be happy if you went to a restaurant with shoddy service and they called your kid a little ****er? I don't think so.

i think it is awesome personally... there were about ten little ****ers in 9 the other night when i saw it. I wish they would have been heckled out of the theatre, instead they pretty much heckled me out.

It is one thing to got to a chuckie cheese or some other family friendly restuarant... but personally i would love it if children under 5 were straight out banned from most restuarants. There are few things worse than trying to eat a meal with 3 or 4 obnoxious, screaming, throwing tantrums and objects all around the restuarant.

The way i see it, if they serve alcohol... just like a bar has an unspoken rule, similarly, restuarants that serve alcohol should not allow children.

Truth be told---both are in the wrong. Parents (I am a parent and I myself have complained seeing other parents not control their children) need to be responsible to control their children whenever they are out in public---but this starts at the home or prior to going into any business---mall, food, stores.
The waitress was in the wrong and personally should have apologized and then let go from her/his job.

It's one of those stories I think, you would have to be there to judge yourself.

I can understand that any child would get cranky if the food is late and they are hungry. It's one of those difficult situations, because the parents can try and calm the kid down all they want, but at the end of the day the child is hungry and that hunger is not going away. If I was working the restaurant and I saw a kid upset and their food was late, I'd try to see if there at least something you can give them to nibble on. Like a bowl of chips. That way at least you've done something and should stop the child irritating the other guests.

At the same time perhaps the parents didn't do anything to try and bring the kid under control. As mentioned sometimes parents think their kids are little angels and really ignore and downplay just how annoying and bad behaving they are!

The note on the docket, there is simply no excuse for. That's just poor customer service. Honestly if your attitude is bad enough that you have to put foul worlds about a child on a docket then I can only think the staff did bugger all to try and sort the situation.

The parents wanting to take legal action on the person responsible.... give me a break. The manageress got the sack, she's learned her lesson, what more do you want?

So you want kids banned from everywhere except McDonald's and Burger King?

And I don't know about where you live, but over here quite a few pubs allow children.

Also people in this thread are criticising the parents when they have no idea what so ever how bad (or not) the girl's behaviour was.

Yeah but it sounds like the server didn't even acknowledge their presence for 20 minutes! Come on this is a Mexican restaurant where's the chips and salsa?

The bars I've been to around here (and I mean places that are only straight up bars) won't even let anyone under drinking age in. Not sure if that's a law or something. If it's got a dining section it's different though.

As to the kid, I've been around quite a few 2 year olds, and in my opinion, if you can't keep your kid entertained properly, you're not doing your job as a parent. If the kid starts throwing a tantrum and you don't do your best to quiet it down or at least take it outside to calm down, you're not doing your job as a parent. It's honestly not that hard to distract a 2 year old for a bit. But on the other hand, it was entirely over the top and rude, and likely the manageress who was sacked hated kids.

Indeed. At the Mexican restaurant I typically go to, there's chips at least. My (18 month old) daughter loves to dip the chips in to the salsa and eat them. Sometimes the waiter will bring her a balloon or something similar to occupy her. That said, service there is typically very fast. From seated to eating within maybe 10-15 minutes.

At the Italian restaurant we typically go to, they have a (free) children's dish. It has some olives, mozzarella, pineapples, maybe a couple crackers. Enough to keep her occupied.

Of course we don't travel empty handed either. We bring toys, our own supply of munchies just in case. She still gets cranky, but we do what we can to calm her. Typically we get seated in what's obviously the "kid section" so there's less of a concern, but just because she might get cranky doesn't mean we're going to abandon our dinner and walk out of the restaurant.

(and for those retards who suggested slapping the child. Assuming it wasn't a joke based on the recent Walmart incident. You do realize that will just make them LOUDER AND CRY MORE right?!)

That was me, and yes it was a joke.

As far as I'm concerned, if the 2yr old walked in by herself and was a little ****, then paid for the bill when she was done, there would still not be an excuse to put that on the bill. Unless of course you do it to all the shitty customers.

If you work in a restaurant... Service me Biatch!
