I'll try it on the Focus 2l we're getting next week, 145 bhp shouldn't be too bad.

why? it's not really required for everyday driving
I have a dog box with straight cut gears so it's either double clutch or heal toe to get it in gear.

Nice action. It is something I would like to learn to do, though I don't have a manual, and when I did it wasn't exactly a performance car. lol.

Perhaps scoobs will let me learn in his car.

no, i'd guess about 0.5% of people drive like that. blipping the throttle so your revs rise not fall as you change down gears is not something many people do...

Or even useful with a syncro gearbox.

Only time you would want to do it is if you are driving the car on the limit of grip.

Yeah I do. The thing is wrx's older than 2001 have pretty weak gears and 1st and 2nd seem to just break. A dog box is an awful lot stronger and hell yeah it's noisy, get some strange looks sometimes.

realistically your right. back end could get a bit unsettled when down shifting too quickly otherwise, but on modern cars there's little difference.
